The National Council for Progress and Order (NCPO; Portuguese: Conselho para o Progresso e Ordem) (Korean: 국가진보질서위원회) is the military junta commanded by the King that officially commands Kanindé since March 4, 2024 but has been forming since 2024 Kanindeense political crisis and which dissolved the national congress and other municipal and state councils. The King revoked 2/3 of Kanindé's constitution (with the exception of the monarchist form of government) and deposed members of Kanindé's cabinet, later incorporating them into the advice as advisors.

Motivations and formation

The NCPO was formed by decree officially on March 4, 2024 after a decree imposed by the King himself at dusk in Kanindé. The justification is that Kanindé needs a strong government and that the King's direct intervention is necessary in several sectors of Kanindé, especially those that are not so active. Also, it was a response to the lack of political activities following the repeal of Martial Law in the Reorganization of the Kingdom that returned on the 4th.

Although the King already carried out much of the work in the sectors in which he now de facto took over, it is now an official that he commands. Transforming Kanindé into a monarchical government whose King is the leader of the Army himself (as a general) and commands a political military junta that approves any law he is interested in. The NCPO is an entity focused on consolidating governance without opposition from the King who now acts as a military leader, maintaining his monarchical title.

The 2024 Kanindeense political crisis revealed the lack of political preparation of members in Kanindé, in which the King had a lot of confidence, placing them in the council to listen to them, but without them holding relevant power.

Luís Felipe, King since 25 September 2022.
