The Federal Parliament is the unicameral legislature of the Delsh-Westlandian Federal Republic. The Federal Parliament is an elected body which consists of the 3 regional First Ministers (FMs) and the President of the Federation of the Delsh-Westlandian Federal Republic. The First Ministers are elected in regional elections using the First-past-the-post voting system and the President of the Federation being elected in a national First-past-the-post election.

History

The Federal Parliament was created soon after the creation of the Delsh-Westlandian Federal Republic. Created with 3 seats consisting of the First Ministers of New Dale and Westland as well as the President of the Federation. The parliament was increased to 4 seats with the accession of Caladonia into the federation. On September 12, 2013 the Federal City Act 2013 was passed allowing larger republics such as Caladonia to increase its representation in the Federal Parliament.

Federal Parliaments

1st Federal Parliament

The 1st Federal Parliament was first elected as part of an unnamed legislature of the Delsh-Westlandian Federal Republic in the July, 2013 Federal Election. The parliament was later expanded to 4 seats with the admission of Caladonia and with the creation of the Federal Party of New Dale, Westland and Caladonia which became the minority government on September 17, 2013 holding the seats of the Republic of New Dale and just 5 days later the Guildford Federal City following its creation as the capital of the Delsh-Westlandian Federal Republic. The 1st Federal Parliament has passed 5 pieces of legislation with a further 4 under discussion. As well as this it has developed the Delsh-Westlandian Krone, the Dale-Westland Football Union and Dale-Westland national football team through the Ministry of Economics and Labour, as well as the Ministry of Culture. The 1st Federal Parliament was formally dismissed on Sunday 19th, 2014, after the remaining bills would be transferred to the 2nd Federal Parliament by default after a tie in votes.

2nd Federal Parliament

Elections for the 2nd Federal Parliament began on January 26 and ended on February 2 in a 2 stage election which saw 4 different votes taking place in 2 separate weekends. The Caladonian Green Party gained 1 seat while the Federal Party lost 1 seat, the presidency.
