The Battle of Corvalon was an engagement in the War in Jalaur River. It occurred on January 20 - 22, 2024, on the riverbanks following the Battle of Riverdale. The irregular forces of the Principality of Norgain planned their advance towards the Corvalon Islands, a territory of the Province of Galrea, a claim of Arlandica in Jalaur River. King Jerold I authorized General Jay Arce to deploy and instruct the personnel in the area to defend it. Norgain did not advance according to their plan due to the presence of the Civil Guard in the area.

Battle

Following the annexation of the eastern portion of island territories by Norgain, which are claimed by Curimae, Hesminia, Ravenia, Venthony, Vista, and Zhao, General Jay Arce received reports that Norgain's irregular forces led by Prince Nico might advance towards the west. Therefore, in the evening of January 20, 2024, authorized by King Jerold I, General Arce deployed personnel in the area to defend it. The personnel came from the Overseas Security Unit, commanded by Lieutenant General Zoe Bernardino.

Emperor Xiaen sent his official to observe the situation in the area and conducted a survey of the Corvalon Islands. Lieutenant General Zoe Bernardino ordered two men to guard the road entrance, while the other two men began to enter the Jalaur riverbanks near Norgain positions. Later, Arlandican and Norgain forces exchanged fire using improvised weapons. Reinforcements from the Hesminian Home Guard arrived an hour after the start of the engagement. The exchanges lasted for 2 hours. In the afternoon of January 21, the exchanges of fire continued between the two sides. On the next day, Norgain forces left their positions and retreated.

Aftermath

As a result of the engagement, Norgain refrained from further advancing towards the western portion of Jalaur River island territories, where Arlandica's claims are located, due to the presence of the Civil Guard.

The counteroffensive was launched on January 24 by the forces of Arlandica, Begley Commonwealth, and Hesminia to liberate all territories captured by Norgain. However, on the same day, Norgain officially surrendered.
