The Prime Minister of the Dubovian Socialist Republic (Slovak: Predseda vlády Dubovskej socialistickej republiky, literally: "Chairman of the Government") is the head of government of Dubovia and its leading member. The Prime Minister presides over and leads the activity of the Government and its members. The Prime Minister is appointed by the President, following elections to the Federal Assembly. The rest of the Government is appointed by the President, on the proposal of the Prime Minister.

History

the office was created originally as "Chairman of the Government" in August 2023. The only officeholder was Esty Carpentieri, who resigned due to lack of time and was replaced with Tobey Wyles upon the establishment of the office of Prime Minister on 10th November by a new constitution and remained in office, as his party won the December 2023 legislative elections. During the provisional government period, the office of Prime Minister was less significant and more akin to prime ministers in stronger semi-presidential and presidential republics.

Following the rework of Dubovia and the 2024 Constitutional Referendum, the Prime Minister is now the second most powerful person in Dubovia, behind the President.

Powers

Despite some of them not being specifically mentioned in the Constitution, the Prime Minister's powers include:

  1. presiding over the Government,
  2. convening sessions of the Government,
  3. singing and promulgating ordinances of the Government, with the consent of the President,
  4. having a casting vote, if voting in the Government is tied.

The Prime Minister is accountable to the Federal Assembly and reports both to the Federal Assembly and the President of the Republic.
