The Dubovian Labour Party (Slovak: Dubovská strana práce) was a socialist, progressive and the largest political in Dubovia.
History
The Dubovian Labour Party (DbLP) was founded on 25th November 2023 by Mišo and Esty Carpentieri as the first-ever political party in Dubovia. In December 2023, Mišo was elected as the General Secretary of the DbLP (de facto party leader) and selected Esty as his First Secretary (de facto deputy leader). As of June 2024, Mišo served as the only General Secretary.
The DbLP was the largest party prior to the 2023 legislative election, polling at around 40 to 50%, however, it was surprisingly defeated by the Social and Liberal Democrats, led by Tobey Wyles, who formed the first Dubovian Government.
DSWP was the second largest party in Dubovia, polling at roughly 23%, with the liberals polling at roughly 45%. As of 21st December 2023, DSWP seeks to form an anti-liberal, socialist and progressive coalition against the liberals, together with the Libertarian Socialist Party and the Communist Party of Dubovia.
In March 2024, DSWP was transitioned into the Dubovian Labour Party.
The Dubovian Labour Party and the People's Marxist Organisation were merged and created the "Communist Party of Dubovia" in June 2024
Ideology
The ideology of the DSWP is known as Dubovian Socialism (officially referred to as "Marxism-Mišoism-Carpentierism") and it merges various left-wing, progressive and Marxist ideologies.
The core basis of Dubovian socialism are the so called "Three provisions for the establishment of a socialist democracy". They are inspired by Sun Yat-sen's "Three Principles" and the left-wing factions of the KMT.
The Three provisions for the establishment of a socialist democracy are as follows:
- Political Democracy - rejection of state survelliance, one-party rule and severe restrictions on human rights and freedoms, but also rejection of all forms of irredentism, racial and ethnic nationalism and imperialism and a form of democracy, where the sovereignty and supreme power rests within the working class. The working class exercises its supreme power directly and through representative bodies (such as parliament or government).
- Economic Democracy - rejection of a private property-oriented, free-market economy and a call for the seizure of the means of productions by the working class mostly through workers' self-management and state-owned enterprise on the basis of a mixed and regulated socialist economy.
- Inclusive Democracy - is the support for the struggle of the minorities and other marganlised or opressed groups apart from the working class. This includes support for the LGBTQ+ movement, trade unions, workers' syndicates, BLM and so on. This principle also denounces any form of social conservatism and reactionarism, as a direct threat for the minorities and the working class.
The ideology is a fusion of post-Marxist, progressive, anti-imperialist and similar ideological movements and stands on the left-wing to far-left side of the political spectrum.
Leadership
The party was led by all members directly, though Mišo served as the most prominent figure and de facto leader of the party.
Mišo held the position of DbLP Chairman, but renamed the position into "General Secretary".
