The Order of Andrew I is the highest dynastic order of the Kingdom of Pontunia which is associated with the House of Perdomo, the reigning house in the nation. The order was founded by Andrew I, the King of Pontunia and the head of the royal house of Perdomo to recognize valuable contributions of members of the national royal family and friendly foreign monarchs.
Criteria of bestowal
The Order of Andrew I is restricted only on the members of the national royal family and friendly foreign monarchs. The following criteria is followed for the conferment of the order.
- The recipient must be a member of the Pontunian royal family.
- The recipient must be a foreign monarch (in case of foreign awardees).
- The recipients must be over the age of 10.
- The recipient shall be close to the royal family of Pontunia.
Grades and insignia
Grades
The Order of Andrew I is conferred in two distinguished grades. The two grades are:
- Knight (for males) and Dame (for females)
- Squire (for males) and Lady (for females)
The highest grade of Knight or Dame is restricted to a maximum of five recipients at a time, while the grade of Squire of Lady is restricted to a maximum of ten recipients at one time. All recipients of the Order of Andrew I bear the post-nominals letters of OA.
