House of Perdomo
The House of Perdomo is a royal house that is in control of Duchy of Pontchartrain-Maurepas. It is descended from Normans who invaded the Canary Islands in the 1490s. There are Perdomos still in the Canary Islands (there is even a street named after the royal house), but most live in Latin America.

The first member of the dynasty was a Norman who conquered the Canaries for the King of Castile. He married the last princess of the islands, but later the family came to the New World. They mostly settled in Columbia and Nicaragua, but the branch of the house that would settle in Cuba were the ancestors of Andrew I. In the Cuban Revolution of 1959, the Cuban part of the family left to the States. Knowing little English, some of the family settled in Miami (near the Conch Republic) while Robert Perdomo, grandfather of Andrew I, went to Louisiana.
