The Oceanian Dollar, occasionally called the Oceani dollar, is the national currency of the Union of Oceania. It is a fiat currency pegged to the Australian Dollar.

Overview

The Oceanian Dollar uses the decimal system, consisting of 100 equal cents (symbol ¢).

Design

Coins share the same size as their equivalent denominations in Australia. Oceanian coins are either “silver” coins made of 75% copper and 25% nickel, or “Gold” coins made of 2% nickel, 6% aluminium and 92% copper. Each coin features a design on the obverse side that includes the word "Oceania", and the value (expressed in either dollars or cents). The reverse side features the Oceanian Coat of Arms, along with the words “Union of Oceania” and the coins value in words embossed around the rim and mint year embossed below the coat of arms. All coins are designed in medallic orientation.

The banknote design was inspired by the Australian and New Zealand currency. All Oceanian banknotes are polypropylene polymer banknotes and feature translucent holographic security windows. A different color is used for each denomination, based on the six basic colors of the rainbow. The "cooler" colors represent lower value denominations and the "hotter" colors represent higher value denominations. The both sides features a portrait of an Oceanian historical figure and the denomination value in two corners. The Oceanian Notes feature a translucent panel in the shape of the Oceanian Coat of Arms (right on obverse, left on reverse)and a printed serial number (left on obverse, right on reverse).
