The May 2022 Atieran general election was held from 29 May until 30 May 2022. The race was between the Atieran Moderate Coalition led by James Bornstein, the Co-Operative Commonwealth Federation led by Chancellor William Cooper, and the Atiera Forward Party led by Jayden Dagsa. The sole independent in the Imperial Assembly, Michael Shepard, chose not to seek reelection, leading to the loss of the only seat held by an individual with no party affiliation. The election was declared by Emperor Alexander I, Emperor of Atiera on 1 May 2022, with nominations being open from 2 May to 19 May 2022. The AMC was the only party to have candidates in all six seats, with the CCF and AFP having fielded two seats and one seat, respectively. The election ended with what was widely viewed as a historic landslide, with the AMC winning all six seats, three being unopposed, thus leading to James Bornstein becoming the next Chancellor of Atiera.
The election was notable as it showed a return to activity within Atiera following a period with little to no developments occurring. The AMC campaigned primarily on a platform of expanded diplomacy, activity incentives, and unity within government, while the CCF focused on economic growth and recruiting more citizens, both local and overseas. Meanwhile, the AFP's sole candidate, Jayden Dagsa, focused on a message of change within Atiera, with policies such as further government transparency and employing Atieran citizens with careers. Due to scheduling conflicts, no formal debates between party leaders were held. However, clashes between them occurred during the campaigning period. Criticism was directed towards the CCF, and AMC due to alleged "whitewashing (of) track records." Opponents noted the AFP only had filed one candidate, with Bornstein stating a government including the party was nearly impossible.
