Borduria, officially Kingdom of Borduria (Portuguese: Reino da Bordúria), was a constituent country of the United Kingdom of Sildavia and Borduria. The capital and most populated province was Wertzragh. Portuguese was the national and official language. Being an absolute monarchy, the power of the state was concentrated in the head of state, Queen Maria I, with the Private Council as a form of advice to the sovereign in the governance of the kingdom. Founded on 01 March 2021, as a sildavian dominion, it was reorganized into a kingdom on 11 March 2023. In 11 March 2023 it was reorganized again to form the United Kingdom of Sildavia and Borduria.
Origins
Borduria is named after the fictional country featured in The Adventures of Tintin, the comics series by the acclaimed Belgian cartoonist Hergé, and was depicted in King Ottokar's Sceptre (1938–1939), The Calculus Affair (1954–1956), being also mentioned in Tintin and the Picaros (1975–1976). Bordúria is named after the work of Hergé, but it does not claim any fictional territory.
History
Foundation as Dominion
Borduria was founded on 9 March 2021 as the Province of Moltus, along with the other provinces of Sildavia. On that same day the Solaryan Empire had been designed by Queen Maria to be founded, and to be merged with Sildavia, but the project was considered unfeasible. The project of the Solaryan Empire was on hiatus until the middle of late August of that year, when a new project was conceived to reform the Solarya, and transform the then Province of Moltus into the Imperial Dominion of Borduria. The Queen then issued in an extraordinary act the Royal Act No. 01 of the Kingdom of Sildavia, which created Borduria as an imperial dominion, immersing the Solaryan territories and the former province in a new administration. As Borduria has imperial dominion status, the queen received the additional title of Czarina and Autocrat of All Bordurias, and went on to officially sign in the province's documents as Her Imperial and Royal Majesty, the Queen-Czarina.
Hergerian Union
On 11 March 2023 The Queen reorganized her country, elevating the former province to a Kingdom, and creating a union between the former Kingdom of Sildavia and the now Kingdom of Borduria, creating the United Kingdom of Sildavia and Borduria.
