Katarinensisch Palatinate, officially the Canton of Katarinensisch Palatinate (Hunsrik: Kanton von Katarinensisch Palz; Portuguese: Cantão de Palatinado Catarinense) is a Neo-Rhenish canton enclaved in the Brazilian city of São Joaquim, within the state of Santa Catarina. Its New Southern Rhine's largest canton, with 12 inhabitants and home to the three municipalities which are Jagst, Tauber and the capital city of Süpplingenburg. The Katarinensisch Palatinate is also reportedly the coldest of the cantons. The canton is administered by a Steward appointed by the monarch.

The territory that makes up the modern-day canton, unlike the other cantons, was uninhabited until 1750 (presumably because of the extreme cold), when gaúchos, ranchers from the Rio Grande do Sul settled in that region, part of the sesmaria (allotment) of Pelotas. In 1866, with the opening of roads connecting the old allotment to other municipalities, Germans and German-Brazilians began to settle in the region, which was transformed into the municipality of São Joaquim in 1887. It was not until 1959 that the Scherer family settled in the region. In 2021, influenced by micronationalism, Jonathan Scherer-Arrais proclaimed the independence of his family properties and founded Independent State of the New Southern Rhine. His family's properties in the Brazilian city of São Joaquim were converted into the Neo-Rhenish canton of the Katarinensish Palatinate.[1]
