The House of Missiones was the offical upper house of the Congress of Cristoria. Formerly known as the House of Representatives, the House of Missiones was responsible for proposing bills to the House of Scribes and overseeing preceeding agencies that held lower power than the House of Missiones.
History
The House of Missiones goes back to the intial writing of the Constitution of Cristoria, wherein Article One, Section Two, it was declared that the upper house of the Congress of Cristoria was to be the House of Representatives.
The House of Representatives held its first round of elections on 20 January 2023, with the Independent Cristorian Party (ICP), led by Christopher P., attained the most seats. As a result, the ICP remained the dominant party in congress until the next elections that would inevitably take place in July 2023.
A significant event that occurred in both the House of Representatives and the Senate (as they were known) was the proposal of Operation: Blazing Glory, a cyberwarfare operation that was taken against the Gorthian Federation to protect Cristorian interests.
On 16 January 2024, after being passed in the House of Representatives and the Senate with two thirds of the Congress of Cristoria approving of it, the National Reconstructure Act of 2024[1] was passed. The act renamed the House of Representatives formerly to the House of Missiones in Article One, Section One.[1]
On 24 January 2024, the House of Missiones, alongside Congress and the House of Scribes, was formally dissolved.
Meetings
The House of Missiones meeted in New Toledo if all members were able to meet within the borders of Cristoria. Otherwise, those whom could not meet were obligated to use Google Meet or Discord to keep communication as an obligation.
Meetings covering political matters that directly concerned the Republic of Cristoria, must've lasted at least an hour. Meetings regarding the impeachment of the president must've last eight hours.[2]
Symbols of the House
The official color for the House of Missiones was Royal Red, with the House of Scribes being the Cristorian national color, Royal Blue.
The official seal of the House of Missiones was a Bald eagle holding a bow and arrow in the left hand and a sword in the right.
