Independence

On 6 October 2018, the Kingdom of Auvenum seceded from the Aenderese Republic (formerly known as the Republic of Aenderia), by Calvin White, who served as the self-appointed President of Aenderia. Aenderia's government initially intended to have an elected Vice President every two years and a President every four. So, White scheduled elections on 22 September 2018 for Vice President. Horatio Eden, a Conservative, was later elected as Vice President.

Coup d'état

After the 2018 elections, White was accused of voter fraud by the Conservative Party, which dominated the Aenderia Law Congress (ALC). These allegations led to White being indicted by the Conservative-controlled Aenderian government for voter fraud, and the ALC voted to remove White from his power until after the trial. Horatio Eden became acting President.

White was later acquitted, but the ALC refused to return White to his position, with Acting President Eden claiming that White required an ALC vote to return, backtracking on his prior statement that the outcome of the trial would determine White's position. The ALC later voted to prevent White from reobtaining his seat, in a move now seen as a coup d'état by the Conservative Party. This led to growing secessionist sentiment among White and his supporters, who felt betrayed by their own country and government.

Second Chance

White intended to rerun in the upcoming November elections even though White's public sentiment continued to flounder, as polls showed that White had only 30% public approval. White later selected Maximilian von Schroeder as his running mate for the elections. von Schroeder was given the governorship of the Kir Islands which were part of Aenderia at the time[citation needed].

Secession

On 6 October 2018, Eden threatened to exile von Schroeder for reasons lost to time, which angered him and led him to secede the Kir Islands from Aenderia. Seizing the opportunity, White closed down all Aenderian government buildings in the capital city of Jyilzyem and declared the independence of Jyilzyem and the Kir Islands to create the Kingdom of Auvenum. This move was later viewed as illegitimate by Aenderia and several other micronational entities, creating territorial disputes between the two nations, particularly in the Kir Islands. Aenderia had later accepted the loss of the territories of Jyilzyem, especially the territories encompassing White's private domicile and other territories nearby.[citation needed]

Early History

After independence from Aenderia, Auvenum quickly established a monarchy with Calvin White naming himself as the de facto head of state and later establishing himself as the Prince. He also created the Prime Directorship (later called Prime Minister) position to lead the Parliament and intended for it to be an elected position, similar to that of a President. White named Maximilian von Schroeder as the nation's first Prime Director.

Policy

One of White's first actions as Prince was to oversee the creation of an armed forces. He appointed Jay Clover I as the Director of Defense and General of the military, and created three fictional bases on three islands in the Robertson Chain (territorial land claims between Aenderia and Auvenum, more commonly known as Cyntell and the Kir Islands). However, all references to any part of Auvenum's military would later be fictionalized.

Joshua Mullins, the notable attorney who successfully defended Calvin White from accusations of voter fraud, was appointed as the first and only Attorney General of Auvenum.

Retaliation against Aenderia (White Scandal)

On 27 October 2018, Prince White led an attempt to overthrow the Aenderian government in retaliation for the coup against White.

The Plan

The plan involved attempting to take the IP address of William Efton and change the MicroWiki page to support his claims of an overthrow. He also attempted to re-establish the Republic of Aenderia under his authority. White attempted to recruit Tom Kap of the People's Republic of Duke to act as his mule to attempt to gain Efton's IP address. However, Tom Kap promptly informed Efton of White's plan, leading to White's plan going public and heavy international scrutiny and efforts by Aenderia. White later publicly apologized, denounced his actions, and claimed he would focus on growing Auvenum rather than retaking his position in Aenderia.

2018 Kir Islands Secession Crisis

After the White Scandals went public, Maximilian von Schroeder, the incumbent Prime Director, denounced White's actions and resigned from his role as Prime Director. Over a week later, he announced that he would secede the Kir Islands from Auvenum and create the Kingdom of Kivaria. This created a territorial dispute between Auvenum and the Kingdom of Kivaria since Auvenum still claimed the Kir Islands as a region of Auvenum. The Auvenese claimed that since von Schroeder renounced his government and citizenship, he had no jurisdiction and authority to secede from the Kir Islands. However, von Schroeder persisted in establishing the Kingdom of Kivaria. Auvenum drew support from Aenderia during this conflict, yet supported the sovereignty of Kivaria on territory not belonging to Auvenum.

Compromises

Calvin White attempted to compromise with Kivaria, by offering a few islands that belonged to the Kir Islands. Initially, the two uninhabited and unutilized islands were offered to Kivaria, but von Schroeder refused and persisted in his attempts to create Kivaria.

A plan was written up by Nicholas Milan, and it included giving part of Cyntell to Auvenum, yet Aenderia refused to cite that Aenderia had nothing to do with this conflict.

In early November 2018, White struck a deal with von Schroeder, successfully agreeing to relinquish control of the two uninhabited islands on the north of the Kir Islands and the largest island of Jir, whilst keeping Kinatoure and Voka. Schroeder initially refused, but White eventually managed to convince Schroeder, and Kivaria became its own entity while the islands of Kinatoure and Voka remained in the control of Auvenum. Kivaria later declared the secession crisis as the "War of Kivarian Succession" and that the resolution was an overwhelming Kivaria victory.

Kivarian Annexation

On 17 November 2018, Auvenese intelligence discovered that Kivaria was inactive and no government activity was taking place. This led to an operation by the Auvenese military to annex and reunite the formerly seceded territories. A narrative was written about the alleged military operation, claiming that: "On the early morning of 17 November, the Auvenese military invaded the island of Jir and reclaimed the island, facing no resistance. A few days later, Auvenum reclaimed all of the Kivarian Isles, thus reunifying the Kir Islands and leading to the supposed termination of the Kingdom of Kivaria. In the meantime, von Schroeder focused on creating a new nation- Rhodesia." However, no such military operation had taken place, and the annexation was mostly visualized through MicroWiki edits and no resistance from any people tied to Kivaria.

On 3 December 2018, the Lilylandian Broadcast Corp (LBC), a news media company created by von Schroeder, published a fabricated article on an alleged riot that took place in Kir Islands, Auvenum. The article's intended effect was to hurt the credibility of Auvenum and victimize the annexed Kivaria and its supposed "inhabitants." The false news story led to backlash from the intermicronational community.

Robertson Sea Conflict

NOTE: The events Robertson Sea Conflict are largely fictional. Some events have also been lost to time, and so some elements are not accurate. The Robertson Sea conflict began during the Matachewan-Nerdystan War when Matachewan declared war on Nerdystan in October 2018, and Piotr Harniakiewicz, leader of Nerdystan, reached out to Calvin White for help. White immediately ordered for (fictional) forts to be built on the Kir Islands, near Nerdystan's only territory on an island off the coast of Cyntell. The plan (below) consisted of creating a belt around Nerdystan with Auvenese ships holding a sea brigade. Some ships were also sent to the west side in case of a flank by Matachewanese ships.

The plan of a belt around Nerdystan with Auvenese ships holding a sea brigade. Some ships were also sent to the west side in case of a flank by Matachewanese ships.

However, after the brigade was called to order in the Robertson Sea by the Prince, Aenderia, who did not participate in the conflict, threatened Auvenum and issued international decrees warning Auvenum about its participation in the war close to Aenderian territories.[citation needed] A lot of this has been forgotten.

Resolution

Eventually, Matachewan surrendered and offered over one of their provinces, Gowganda, to Nerdystan. Nerdystan refused to occupy it, but Auvenum later occupied it for over a month.

Brandom Mierzwa of Matachewan later abdicated his position and created the Commonwealth of Matachewan. Later, the former Matachewan dissolved and the Commonwealth asked Auvenum for Gogwanda back. Auvenum refused and said that occupation is only temporary. However, a fictional conflict ensued and Auvenum eventually returned the territory to Matachewan after the signing of the Treaty of Timmins, and Matachewan withdrew its fictional troops from the Robertson Chain.

Fictional Events of the Matachewan-Auvenun War

NOTE: This page initially referenced a fictional conflict between Auvenum and Matachewan, however, all of it is highly propagandized and fictional. None of this ever took place:

The Commonwealth of Matachewan ultimately began several assaults on Gogwanda to reclaim their lost territory. However, the Matachewanese Military was no match for the Auvenese military, and their several assaults in Gogwanda failed miserably until one day, Jay Clover sent the troops to assault the Matachewanese troops in East Montreal but failed miserably. The positions of the Matachewanese were broken, but the Matachewans ultimately disarmed the Auvenese troops. Shortly after, the Treaty of Timmins was signed, handing over Gogwanda back to Matachewan and ending the Matachewan Front.

Resignation of Jay Clover I

On 21 December 2018, Clover accused White of "[giving] part of White Island to Aenderia." White denied the allegations, as none of this was ever true. Clover may have been referring to White authorizing annexation of territory north of White Island on the mainland Marine Park (the park where White Island is located) to a newfound republic named the Republic of Verus.

However, Clover launched an investigation into White, even though he held no authority to do so, under the pretenses of:

  • Hate speech
  • Creating conflict to start a conflict
  • Falsely accusing another leader of multiple charges
  • Invasion of privacy

In response to Clover's investigation, micronational leaders all disagreed with Jay's investigation, and even Aenderia expressed their support of White in the investigation. This led to Clover resigning as Prime Director of Auvenum, and his investigation disappeared.

A day later, Jay won the elections in Aenderia and began proposing to "destroy Auvenum." It is largely viewed that Clover's betrayal of Auvenum was an attempt to gain popularity in Aenderia.

Clover's Pardon

In late December 2018, Aenderia's government collapsed and Clover quickly ascended through the ranks of the Aenderian government. Clover ended up becoming the Vice President of Aenderia after Lycon's resignation. Clover later returned to Auvenum and apologized for his treasonous actions, claiming that his resignation was staged and he intended to win in Aenderia to support Auvenum. Shortly after, Aenderia's government collapsed, White allowed Clover to regain his citizenship. On 1 January 2019, Calvin White appointed Jay Clover as the Prime Director until the upcoming elections on 19 January.

First Auvenese Elections

On 19 January 2019, Auvenum held their first elections to appoint councilmen into Parliament to represent their regions, and also to ballot for the 3rd Prime Director of Auvenum (and first elected Prime Director of Auvenum.)

E.B. vs. Nicholas Randouler Polls were open beginning the morning of 19 January 2019 and closed eight hours later. After the votes were tabulated, it was announced that Nicholas Randouler won by a singular vote and a percentage of 55.6%.

Councilmen Elections

As of the elections, Auvenum was divided into 3 Parliamentary Districts:

  • Jyilzyem Districts: 1, 2, and 3 (now only 1 and 2)
  • Kir Islands Districts: Kinatoure and Voka.

However, the 2019 elections were for Jyilzyem Districts 1 and 2, and Kir Islands District Kinatoure.

JD1 The race was E. W vs. Andy Eftin for district Jyilzyem 1. E. W represented the LPA (Liberal Party of Auvenum) and Andy Eftin represented the EGMP (East German Meatball Party.) After a long and lengthy battle, E. W won the vote by 66.7%, becoming the first councilman for the district, JD1.

JD2 The race was Matthew Laptev vs. Tony Sweigart for district Jyilzyem 2. Matthew Laptev was independent and Tony Sweigart represented the LPA (Liberal Party of Auvenum). After a long and lengthy battle, Matthew Laptev won the vote by 80%, becoming the first councilman for the district, JD2.

Second Auvenese Cold War

On 7 July 2019, the monarch of Auvenum, Calvin White, declared an absolute monarchy, firing the Prime Minister and the short-termed Deputy Prime Minister. The Fifth Aenderian Republic, or more commonly known in Auvenum as the FAR, immediately took legislative actions and unrecognized the Kingdom. This was seen as the spark of the Second Cold War.

On 17 July 2019, the Aenderese legislation passed 4-0, claiming that Auvenum is "rightfully Aenderese" on the grounds it identified Auvenum as being "not sovereign" and was "illegally seceded" from the Aenderese Republic. White was charged with three counts of "Violation of Free Speech Law," which all occurred in Auvenum despite Aenderia's attempts to prosecute White. Thus, White employed Joshua Mullins as his defense attorney to fight his indictment.

On 27 July 2019, Joshua Mullins called for a motion of dismissal of all charges, and after almost an hour of arguments in court, all the charges were dropped by the prosecution.

Auvenese Crisis

In the summer of 2019, mass protests took place in Auvenum, partly due to the state of the unfinished constitution and speculated Aenderian foreign intervention. Additionally, Prince White refused to accept gifted territory due to its proposed name of "New Palestine," which directly derives its name from the unrecognized State of Palestine. Several members of Parliament, including Prime Minister Nicholas Randouler and Deputy Prime Minister William Efton, turned against the Prince and called for his abdication. Fearing a challenge to his authority, Prince White disbanded the Parliament and established an absolute monarchy which was intended to be temporary until a constitution was written and enacted. However, this led to several civilians and politicians fleeing Auvenum and creating an inactivity crisis.

Aftermath

Lack of progress on the constitution continued, and Auvenum had become disgraced on the micronational stage. Elections were initially panned for 2019 June 19 but had a lack of candidates due to the aftermath of the Auvenese Crisis. Several attempts to increase activity by Prince White were made, including creating an education program. However, all those attempts ended up being unsuccessful, and in November 2019, Auvenum temporarily dissolved and later officially dissolved on January 1, 2020.
