The Xahastanian Defence Force are the combined armed forces of the Republic of Xahastan. It is controlled by the Commander-in-Chief (the President) and a civilian Minister of Defense. In addition to the Army, Navy and Air Force, there are two security forces, controlled by the Ministry of Security, which can be mobilized in occasion of an armed conflict: the National Gendarmerie, a gendarmerie used to guard borders and places of strategic importance; and the Naval Prefecture, a coast guard used to protect internal major rivers and maritime territory. The Xahastanian Defence Force also includes the nations military intelligence agency, the Eyes of the Revolution.
Traditionally, Xahastan maintains close defense cooperation and military-supply relationships with the Empire of Douglas Grant Park and to a lesser extent, with the People's Republic of Nguyenistan, United States of Jubilee Park and Johnston's Creek Liberation Army.
History
The Xahastanian Defence Force was created upon the foundation Republic of Xahastan, it began its life as the Royal Xahastanian Army under the Principality of Xahastan. When the monarchy was disassembled it adopted its current name. Upon the foundation of a socialist government the Xahastanian Defence Force bought a former soviet weapons depot contains guns, tanks and aircraft. The Xahastanian Defence Force also bought a slew of ex Soviet navy ships. The first combat operation that the Xahastanian Defence Force took part in was the Badu Park Civil War, in which the Xahastanian Defence Force helped put down a military mutiny in the newly formed Badu Park Municipal Government. Since then the Xahastanian Defence Force has been invoveld in the Badu Park War of Restoration in which they turned on their former allies at Badu Park and waged a war to stop the re-formation of Badu Park Municipal Government. The Xahastanian Defence Force was also involved in the Sydney World War.

The Xahastanian Defence Force is one of the most active militaries in the region, and is considered the primary power in the microcontinent. The Xahastanian Defence Force has been active in multiple wars and peacekeeping missions, most notably the Sydney World War, Johnston's Creek Wars, July Crisis, FIFA War, Badu Park Civil War and Mugahan Field War
