Verus (officially the Kingdom of Verus) is a self-declared an independent state or a micronation to observers. Verus has land claims in the states of Maryland, New York, and Ohio. Aside from land claims Verus has citizens in the nations of Finland, Hong Kong, Republic of Korea, Sweden and the United States.
The Republic first was a planned micronation by Russell Gilzem, Nick Kaos, Cameron Koehler, Nicolas Millan and Nicholas Randouler, but later it grew to nine more people. Verus was officially was first thought of Nicholas Randouler who got inspiration from Transterra and the perceived failure of the Milaw Administration in Aenderia. A pure republic idea was written in with the Constitution for all citizens to see Verus as a real republic for people seeking one.
On the eighteenth of June, 2019 Verus re-established itself as a Kingdom to help with the inactivity crisis. Later the acting-King and co-founder Nicholas Randouler met with Abeldane officials to make Verus a nation loyal to the Abeldane Monarchy, with a Governor-General.
The name for the Republic of Verus comes from the Latin language. Verus translates into true in English. The name is derived from that to represent a "true republic" meaning a true and real republic with elected leaders with good people.
