The Battle for Lytera V, also known as The Crisis in Rome, is the fifth episode of The Battle for Lytera produced by the Royal Lyteran Broadcasting Company. It released in December, 2021.

Plot

The Vanguard, Tanya, Maho and Kim are on the deck of the Yacht off the coast of Rome, Rikka's repairs the previous episode inadequate. To avoid Wonka's escape, Tanya and Rosehip go to hunt him down whilst the others stay on the ship. In Rome, Anchovy, a police detective, comes across the body of Shrek, killed by a serial killer. She meets Tanya and Rosehip, and agrees to help them find Wonka if they help solve her mystery. They visit Boova, the Kingpin of Rome and de facto controller. He flirts creepily with Rosehip and gives the information, but attempts to backstab them by setting his ninja bodyguards on them. Tanya shoots him before they can do any damage and they swear themselves to her service. They lead the group to an alleyway, where Slugworth, the killer, is talking to Wonka's hologram. After some banter, he flees, the group chasing him whilst the song "Slugageddon" plays. Whilst one of the Ninja's tanks is blown up, the others make it to the Vatican, where the Pope is watching anime. Slugworth tries to kill the Pope to cause a religious war, but the Ninja leader sacrifices himself, and Slugworth flees to a cathedral. Inside, he is killed by Wonka for being too obvious in his murders, and taunts the group for trusting Fairy Godmother. Rushing back to the ship, they discover that the others have vanished, and contact Amelia, who briefs them on the previous episodes antics. Tanya decides they can't do anything to help against Godmother, and the ship starts heading for the British Isles. In a white void, Godmother puts her scheme into action.

Production

Production of the episode began back in September, though the script went through a rewrite before voice recording began on November 14th, being animated in December.
