The Cristorian Air Force (CAF), or the Blue Air Force, is one of three major branches of the Cristorian Armed Forces. The CAF is responsible for aeronautical defense, radio communication, civil defense, and aeronautical research. The CAF is the only branch of the Cristorian military to have a sister branch, that being the Cristorian Space Force. The CAF is garrisoned out in the state of New Toledo and is the third most funded military branch in the Republic of Cristoria.
History
The first antecedent of the Cristorian Air Force is traced back to the then Empire of Cristoria. The military branch at the time was under the name of the Imperial Cristorian Air Service (ICAS).
The Imperial Cristorian Air Service didn't succeed or complete any operations under the Empire of Cristoria, and thus, the organization never got its independence as a sole military branch.
In August 2021, following the establishment of the Kingdom of Cristoria, the once Imperial Cristorian Air Service was now under the name of the Royal Cristorian Air Service (RCAS).
During the Cristoro-Huntian Cold War when the RCAS assisted the Cristorian Army during Operation: Institute, the eventual independence of the organization as a sole military branch would have been achieved.
The then Royal Cristorian Air Force (RCAF) would not see any air-to-air combat. However, the RCAF would have tested two drones over the course of the existence of the Kingdom of Cristoria, those ultimately being unsuccessful.
Following the collapse of the Kingdom of Cristoria in December 2022, the then Royal Cristorian Air Force would dissolve.
In January 2023, the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Cristoria was written, ultimately bringing the Cristorian Air Force (CAF) into existence.

The CAF has two forms of insignia, the most notable being the roundel and the ensign.
