The Royal Bastaran Air Force (RBAF) is the Kingdom of Bastara's air force. It was founded on 10 June 2023.

The RBAF's mission is to support the objectives of the Ministry of Defence (MOD), and the air force aims to defend Bastara and establish air power and superiority.

The head of the air force is the Chief of the Air Staff, who reports to the Chief of the Defence Staff who sits as the professional head of the Bastaran Armed Forces.

History

The RBAF was established on 10 June 2023 by the Armed Forces Decree, which acts as a mini constitution for the branch.

Structure

Senior Management

The professional head and highest-ranking officer of the Royal Bastaran Air Force is the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS). He reports to the Chief of the Defence Staff, who is the professional head of the Bastaran Armed Forces.

The management of the RBAF is the responsibility of the Air Force Board, a sub-committee of the Air Office which is part of the Ministry of Defence.

The CAS is aided by other senior staff. The RBAF's senior staff is as follows:

Personnel

RBAF personal is split into two classes - officer and other ranks. Active elements of the RBAF and all ex-Regular personnel remain liable to be recalled for duty in a time of need.

Officers

Officers hold a commission from the Monarch, which provides the legal authority for them to issue orders to subordinates. The commission of a regular officer is granted after successfully completing the Initial Officer Training (IOT) Course.

Other Ranks

Other ranks, otherwise known as Airmen, attend the Recruit Training Squadron for basic training. RBAF other ranks fall into four categories: Warrant Officers, Senior Non-Commissioned Officers, Junior Non-Commissioned Officers and Airmen. All Warrant Officers in the RBAF are equal in terms of rank, but the most senior Non-Commissioned appointment is known as the Warrant Officer of the Royal Bastaran Air Force.
