The president of the Democratic Republic of Subejia is the head of state of the Democratic Republic of Subejia. The president directs the executive branch of the federal government and is the commander-in-chief of the Subejian Armed Forces.
The office of the president was created on 28 February 2021, during the February Revolution. The office was originally used by the Republic of Subejia, a failed break-away state during at the height of the Civil War. The first president, Azwariq Qadri became president in his first term, while he took the oath of office during his de jure second term.
The president is advise by his vice president. The president is directly elected to a twelve-year term, along with the vice president.
History
The term "president" did not came until the first president, Azwariq Qadri, led the civil war. The term also used by the failed proposed republic state of Subejia by Azwariq.
Azwariq was officially became president during the February Revolution, on 28 February 2021. During the revolution, he chose Mohd Salleh as his vice president. Formally, Azwariq served first term and later, the 2021 Subejian presidential election was held. The "election" was supposed to elect the Member of the Parliament (MP). Azwariq, who won his seat Bandar Subejia, served his de jure second term.
On 1 June 2022, President Azwariq adopted the first Constitution of the Democratic Republic of Subejia.[1] Later, on 11 June, he won the 2022 Subejian presidential election.[2] Supposedly, Azwariq should be inaugurated as President on 20 January 2023, but later postponed.
Duties and functions
The president is the head of state and the head of the executive branch. According to the Constitution, the president has duties to:
- Amend or repeal the Constitution or any other martial laws
- Setup the laws of the Democratic Republic
- Declares nationsleep
- Renunciation the citizenship
- Passed the new Constitution or any other martial laws
- Headed the Supreme Court if the Chief Justice vacanted
- Declares war
- Appoint justices in the Supreme Court
Removal of the president
The president may be removed from the office by the Parliament if two-thirds of its majority vote in favour of impeachment or vote of no confidence. The president also may resign if the president desire to.
Acting President
If president is taking medical checkup, unable or taking a trip outside the Democratic Republic, then the vice president shall be acting president. The acting presidency is upheld by the vice president. If the president was impeached or vote of no confidence, then the vice president shall be president-interim. The presidency-interim is only used while the vice president hold the position of the acting president.
