Pommerland, officially the Free State of Pommerland, is a micronation located in South America, surrounded by Brazil. Composed by a particular property in Rio Grande do Sul, the kingdom is a unitary state with the capital located in Zerbisti, with Portuguese as the national and official language.
History
Pre-establishment
In late 2020, the Conference of Santiago launched their Conference of Santiago Derivative Program, an effort to support newbie micronationalists in create and/or rule their micronations. The program included the creation and deliver of micronations to new micronationalists within the Brazilian sector, such as have been done to the Hanseatic and Confederate States of Achsen and the Independent State of the New Southern Rhine.
Oscar I, Emperor-King of Karnia-Ruthenia and Arthur II, King of Ebenthal they came up with a second project in South region of Brazil, thought to incorporate the German-Southern Brazilian culture proper of the region on which it should be founded. The political name, 'Free State', was suggested by the Ebenthali monarch. Political organization was further discussed and it was agreed that, in order to avoid bureaucracy and in facing the prospect of few active government members, the country should be a centralized state in the form of an absolute monarchy.
Since the beggining, the candidate for this newly-created throne was Dirlei Dias, an already experienced micronationalist, active at first at the Lusophone simulationist environment of micronations that existed until 2020 and was in decline by 2022. However, he eventually declined to assume the leadership of the Pommerlandian State.

Geography
Pommerland is bordered by the Brazilian State of Rio Grande do Sul, that in turn is bordered to the northeast by Santa Catarina, to the southeast by the Atlantic Ocean, on the southwest by Uruguay, and to the northwest by the Argentine provinces of Corrientes and Misiones.
The kingdom lies on the southern slopes of the elevated plateau extending southward from São Paulo across the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina, and is much broken by low mountain ranges whose general direction across the trend of the slope gives them the appearance of escarpments. A range of low mountains extends southward from the Serra do Mar of Santa Catarina and crosses the state into Uruguay.
Most of it belongs to the Río de la Plata drainage basin. Of the many streams flowing northward and westward to the Uruguay, the largest are the Ijuí of the plateau region, the Ibicuí, which has its source near Santa Maria in the central part of the state and flows westward to the Uruguay a short distance above Uruguaiana, and the Quaraí River which forms part of the boundary line with Uruguay. The Uruguay River itself is formed by the confluence of the Canoas and Pelotas rivers. The Pelotas, which has its source in the Serra do Mar on the Atlantic coast, and the Uruguay River forms the northern and western boundary line of the state down to the mouth of the Quaraí, on the Uruguayan frontier.
Climate
Pommerland lies within the south temperate zone and is predominantly humid subtropical (Cfa, according to the Köppen climate classification). The climate is subtropical highland (Cfb) in the highest areas. There are four relatively well-defined seasons and rainfall is well distributed throughout the year, but occasional droughts can occur. The winter months, June to September, are characterized by heavy rains and by a cold southwesterly wind, called minuano, which sometimes lowers the temperature to below freezing, especially in the mountainous municipalities, where snowfalls can occur.Cite error: Closing </ref>

Vegetation
Several ecoregions cover portions of the neighboring state. In the northeastern corner, between the Serra do Mar/Serra Geral and the Atlantic, lies the southern extension of the Serra do Mar coastal forests, a belt of evergreen tropical moist forests. The high plateau is occupied by the Araucaria moist forests, a subtropical forests characterized by evergreen, laurel-leaved forests interspersed with emergent Brazilian Pines. The Alto Paraná Atlantic forests lie on the lower slopes of the plateau south and east of the Araucaria forests, including much of the lower basin of the Jacuí and its tributaries. These forests are semi-deciduous, with many trees losing their leaves in the winter dry season. The Atlantic Coast restingas, distinctive forests which grow on nutrient-poor coastal dunes, extend along the coast, as far as the Uruguayan border. The southeastern portion is covered by the Pampas, which extends south into Uruguay, in a plateau named Serras de Sudeste.
Government
Pommerland was theoretically a constitutional monarchy. Executive power belonged to the monarch, who exercised his power through the Prime Minister. The legislative branch was a unicameral parliament comprising appointed members by the monarch and prime minister to compose the Senate. In theory, ministers are solely responsible to the king.
International relations
The Pommerlandian foreign policy consists of non-intervention, self-determination, international cooperation and the peaceful settlement of conflicts. The matter is assigned to the Prime Minister, which is appointed by the King, but it is ultimatelly headed by the King himself as the supreme authority on foreign policy.
Pommerland's foreign policy is a by-product of the country's microposition as a new and poorly-populated micronation with few government officials. The country relates itself mostly with other micronations at the Brazilian sector. Pommerlandian foreign policy has generally been based on the principles of multilateralism, peaceful dispute settlement, and non-intervention in the affairs of other countries.
Furthermore, in case of the present King's abdication, the country shall at first elect a king as soon as a head of government is composed, and in case of new abdication or incapacity without natural heirs, Pommerland shall become a protectorate of the Kingdom of Ebenthal, preserved its present sovereign territory, and that the micronation may not be annexed peacefully or join a crown union, but be ruled under personal union. As a result of this accord, Ebenthal and Karnia-Ruthenia have been the first micronations to establish formal diplomatic relations with Pommerland.
Economy
The Pommerlandian total economy is to be calculated, but the country's economy currently relies on a very little amount of pyrite, used as source of value for the country's official currency, the Conferential Doubloon. The Pommerlandian internal economy revolves around the circulation of money to the national budget through the payment of salaries and the circulation of wage values among micronational economic sectors. Externally, however, the economy is more varied, with the production and exportation of manufactural goods and the offer of virtual services, such as programming, editing and design, in which part of the total profits is poured into maintaining the micronation. Pommerland is expected to participate in the Conference of Santiago's common market.
The Conferential Doubloon is the official currency, pegged to the pyrite standart (converted to Brazilian Real), following a managed-float monetary policy by the Conference of Santiago Financial Authority and implemented through the National Treasure. Nonetheless, most of the country's business is done in Brazilian Real.[a]
The Pommerlandian state, so far, have few expenses, of which the higher, dealt with in Brazilian Reais, is the maintenance of the micronational portfolio such as virtual spaces. Other expenses includes the allocation of the ruling dynasty and the salaries of civil servants.
