The Ocean States-Zeprana War was a brief conflict between the Federal Republic of Ocean States and the Republic of Zeprana. Conflict broke out on 21 January 2022, after an ultimatum proposed by Ocean States was not fulfilled by Zeprana which led to a declaration of hostilities.

Background

On the 21st of January, at 17:35pm EST, President of the Federal Republic of Ocean States, Jaime P. III, published a list of demands to Zeprana in the Ocean States Discord server, stating that if these demands were not met by 18:30 EST, then Ocean States would declare war on Zeprana. According to Ocean States, the ultimatum was issued due to "repeated incompetence and misleading by President McKeen of Zeprana.". The demands included:

• For President Terry McKeen III to resign, and for his successor to be voted on by the citizens of Zeprana.
• All Zepranian territories to be dissolved, excluding the capital.
• Ocean States to control all of Zeprana until a trusted leader is installed.

The demands were not met, and at 18:47 EST, Ocean States declared war on Zeprana.

Timeline

Initially, McKeen refused to declare the war declaration as legitimate, but after a lengthy voice chat conversation alongside Vice President Matthew Cunningham, Secretary of Defense McKay C and Secretary of State Matthew Tonna, the war was recognised, but as a "cold war" and not a heated conflict. A few nations including the Most Serene Republic of Richensland, the Swisazian Empire and the Empire of Northway went on Zeprana's side. Tsar Simon I of the Swisazian Empire suggested a coalition, but this has not yet been formed. After McKeen was removed due to rigging of multiple elections, Ocean States announced that their demands had been met and wished to open dialogue with Zeprana. At 11:50 on 22 January, Zepranan President Mike Elson announced that a ceasefire had been declared. Following these events, Elson and McKeen formed separate Zepranan governments which remain in contention.

International reaction

• Faltree - Commander of Faltree, Hunt Powell, said that the FROS had the means to invade Zeprana and that the war held validity. Faltree has taken a neutral stance since this statement.
• Bepistan - The Reich Council voted to temporarily suspend diplomatic relations with the FROS for the duration of the war.
• Roscamistan - The Foreign Office announced that it would suspend any attempts to have bilateral relations with Zeprana for 100 hours after the event.
• Richensland - Richensland announced informally that it will side with the Republic of Zeprana and Terry McKeen III.
• Olov - Olovian president, Saleh A.H expresses support towards the FROS.
