History
Early History and temporary abolition
See The history section on the Province of Mervustan
On 27 April 2021, after the merger of Mervue Province, Renmore Colony and a few other colonies, the Premier of Mervue James Irwin became the first Prime Minister of Mervustan. Originally, his cabinet was both the executive and legislative body. After his anger at the Central Government legislating for Mervustan more often, James, along with a few others overthrew the President Andrew Brotherton.
On 23 June 2021, James Irwin resigned from the premiership, leaving David Moore as Deputy Prime Minister. On 26 June 2021, the Province of Mervustan was abolished, with the premiership abolished as well. It was remade on 28 June 2021 when Evan Irwin became the 2nd Prime Minister. Evan Irwin’s administration was marked by the establishment of both the position of Governor of Mervustan and the Mervustan Militia, in association with Adam Flannery
On 3 November 2021, Evan Irwin was removed, and David Moore became Acting Prime Minister. Mervustan Home Affairs Minister Dean Merritt succeeded Moore as Deputy Prime Minister of Mervustan. Upon Moore’s resignation on 4 December 2021, Merritt succeeded him, leaving the deputy premiership vacant. He was an effective PM, but due to bad health he resigned on 24 December 2021, leaving his position vacant.
On 7 January 2022, Governor Adam Flannery assumed the Mervustan Premiership, becoming both de facto head of state and de jure head of government of the province, with Wojieck Nowak becoming Deputy Prime Minister of Mervustan on 7 March 2022.
