In 2018 the Mondstadt government enacted a bill that prohibits the police from executing the death penalty because Mondstadt is not a Muslim country and is a country that respects freedom and peace, the law also requires prisons must treat prisoners like family and have the same facilities as a normal household, in this law MPs agreed to replace the death penalty with Life together But is limited to 8 years including 4 years of solitary confinement and 4 years of probation

Former dictatorship Mondstadt adopted the death penalty and was strongly opposed by the government-in-exile of the Grand Duchy of Mondstadt and the people, Causing Makabe to announce that he is now open to reintroducing a formal moratorium on the death penalty. As of 2018 Mondstadt was noted as "a country that strongly advocates against the death penalty for foreign nationals as well as for domestic citizens."
