The flag of Easway depicts a black Ouroboros whose centre and eyes are white surrounded by a maroon 'Easwegian Red' background in either the centre for the civil flag or to the left for the state ensign, followed by two black pillars surrounded by white strips for the former mentioned flag and a swallowtail white-black-white pillared design on the right for the latter flag. As described in Chapter 1 of the Constitution of Easway, the Ouroboros represents Easwegian eternal resolve, the black stands for justice and resilience, the white stands for diplomacy and the extensive national soul, and the Easwegian Red stands for the people's boldness and sacrifices. The civil flag, termed the Ouroboros' Banner, was adopted on 12 June 2018; the state ensign, termed the Ouroboros' Standard, was adopted on 12 June 2024. The flags' author is credited largely to Lieutenant Founder Aleksou Desourrë, with aesthetic design by Paramount Founder Emizerri and standardisation by founder Csyeigo.

Origin

Flag of the Easwegian Commonwealth (1478-1821)

The civil and state flags of Easway are based on traditional accounts of the flag of the medieval Easwegian Commonwealth, said to have been designed by Martha of Boriopa, the Commonwealth's first leader. Both official flags of Easway are stylised to represent two pillars, symbolising the second polity of the Easwegians. The Ouroboros is an ancient symbol of many cultures first seen in ancient Egypt and came to represent Easwegians through the Ezaari and Novgorod culture being inspired by ancient Greek culture which utilised the symbol in their mythos. Lieutenant Founder Aleksou Desourrë joined the Easwegian national movement in 2016 and recommended the adoption of the Ouroboros, with its design evolving over the next couple of years. The current civil flag design was officially adopted on 12 June 2018 and constitutionally enshrined by the First Amendment of the Constitution of Easway on 14 January 2020. It has been standardised twice by founder Csyeigo.

The Ouroboros' Standard which was adopted on 12 June 2024, the sixth anniversary of the adoption of the current civil flag, has its swallowtail design in homage to the state flag of Denmark which was the suzerain of the Commonwealth from the late 16th century to the early 19th century. It was designed by Emizerri and standardised by Csyeigo. [1]
