The Flag of the Republic of Arcadia is the national flag of Arcadia. It was adopted on 4 June 2024 and has been modified and readopted since then. It is a triband in the following order, Dark green, Blue, and Purple, with the coat of arms in the center and has two light green stripes separating the bands.

Design

The flag is a tricolor consisting of three horizontal stripes of green, blue, and purple with smaller stripes of light green. The green represents the forests and bushes of the Arcadia. The blue represents the bodies of water that are found near and adjacent to Arcadia, blue is also the color of the nations national bird, the western bluebird. The purple represents rarity as well as the nation’s government system, the purple stripe was inspired by the flag of the Spanish Republic. The blue and green stripes were inspired by the Doug flag, the unofficial flag of the cascadia bioregion. A version of the nations coat of arms is seen in the center of the flag, although the civil version of the flag does not use the coat of arms in the center.

Use of the Flag

The flag is commonly used to represent Arcadia as well as its citizens both domestically and abroad. In addition to the national flag, a basic tricolor without the coat of arms is used as a civil ensign and also authorized as a civil flag. The flag is not used for the military except as a naval jack, separate flags are used for the military. The mourning style of the flag is to fly it at Half-mast. This practice is common in many other countries as well.

History

The first version of the modern flag was designed in early June 2024. Before Arcadia was founded as a Micronation, flags of the United States were used, these flags are still seen occasionally inside Arcadia, sometimes displayed on key American holidays such as memorial day.

The first flag of Arcadia was designed in March when it was founded, it consisted of three bands of blue, white, and green with a bundle of roses in the center. This design was used in till April. After that, many different variations of the blue white and green tricolor were used intill the current design was introduced in June 2024.

The first version of the modern flag was designed in early June 2024. The flag originally used an outline of a mural crown in the center when it was known as the Oregon Republic. Then it started using the emblem on the flag in august and finally the modern coat of arms on the flag in September.

Presidential Standard

The Presidential Standard of Arcadia is the official flag of the office of the president, and also serves as the personal standard of the incumbent, currently A.B. The standard was designed on 17 October 2024. The presidential standard can be displayed on any building, vehicle, or office that the president occupies. The design of the flag is a white felid over a dark green background, charged with the national coat of arms in the center. The flag uses a 1:1 proportion.

Arcadia is a Unitary State made up of 4 districts and 2 territories. In addition to the national flag, Arcadia has 3 district flags and 2 territorial flags. Notably, the nations capital district, jewel city, does not have a flag.
