The Echlin-Ocean States Wars were a series of conflicts between United Ocean States and various Echlin breakaway states. These wars occurred due to the overall decline of the central government of Ocean States and its relations with the disgruntled states. The root of these conflicts can be traced back to the early era of Ocean States and resulted in the eventual dissolution of United Ocean States.
Root of the Wars
The wars were mainly caused by the weak internal structure of the Ocean States government, leading to poor decisions and planning. This lack of stability reflected onto United Ocean State's foreign and domestic relations, angering elements of the nation. Civil discourse had been present in Ocean States since the Ocean States Civil War, with national unity never being strong within Ocean States. Further problems were caused by political turmoil in December, with arguments within the government on the future of Ocean States. A result of this internal fighting would be the transfer of Ocean States to a federal republic, replacing the previous regime. All of these factors culminated when Echlin initially declared independence, leading to the various conflicts.
Impact
Many things were impacted by the wars, mainly the schism between United Ocean States and its allies. Union of Mountain States' relations had been deteriorating since the political crisis in December, and the wars destroyed UOS-UMS relations completely. This lead to Union of Mountain States getting Ocean States' delegacy in the Micronational Assembly revoked, after revealing that Jaime P. III was too young to participate in the Assembly. Other nations formally cut off relations with United Ocean States after this revelation, and Ocean States' influence collapsed. This lead to the decline and dissolution of United Ocean States, the Ocean States region never being fully reunited until the creation of Reunited Ocean States.
