Chamber of Provincial Emissary

The Chamber of Provincial Emissary is the upper house of the Tepoelan meaning Parliament in Salandan also known as the Parliament of Salanda is the legislature of the Kingdom of Salanda. It is a bicameral system with the lower chamber being the People’s Channel. The last Salandarian general election was held on 20 July 2023.

Seating Arrangement

It has 15 seats +1 more seat for the speaker

8/15 seats are part of the Solo Party they are in government and headed by Samuel B who is the current Prime Minister of Salanda.
3/15 seats are the by the Federalian Nationalistic Party who are in government and headed by Eric Darkgoat who is the current Chancellor of the Exchequer of Salanda.
3/15 seats are held by the by the Salanda Great Military Party, they are in opposition.
1/15 seats are held by the GLP Party, they are in opposition.

Note: The old system allocated seats to provinces of Salanda which got one seat each the Suveste Province got two seats.

The speaker’s seat is neutral and they can vote if there is a tie and they are there to mediate between parties and keep order in the Chambers of Provincial Emissary.

Seats were under the old system before the current iteration of the Constitution of Salanda two seats were one province and there was one more extra seat for Suveste Province. Not including one seat for the speaker. The speaker is chosen by a direct vote and must not be affiliated with a political party or express personal political views or they could have their position terminated in a situation where no one expresses themselves for speaker one of the party in powers member is chosen.

Terms used

All Members of the Chamber of Provincial Emissary refer to one another as ‘The Fine Principled’ Gentleman/Lady/Representative. These terms were added in the Amendment Three of the Kingdom of Salanda constitution.

Meeting Place

Meetings in the Chamber of Provincial Emissary happen constantly every year. The Tepoelan is headquartered in Suveste.

Expansion

On Friday the 18th of March 2022 the Salanda Parliament passed an act to increase the number of seats from five seats to nine seats not including the speaker's seat which is not in the official count of seats, the expansion was part of the Salandarian Activity Act of 2022 to make the Kingdom of Salanda's institutions such as its online presence more active and in general improve the activity of the Kingdom of Salanda and not just online institutions. On the 29 June 2022 the act was fully implemented.
