The "Vtuber Act" is a law formulated by the Republic of Kichi to regulate various non-governmental exchanges between Kichi and the vtuber community before reconciliation with the vtuber community, before the revision, the law aimed to restrict vtubers and their culture, especially the spread of mainland Chinese vtuber culture in Kichi. The law now encourages Kichi to continue to communicate and cooperate with the vtuber community. The law was passed by Huaguoshan on January 23, 2023, and was amended on March 12, 2023 to decriminalize vtuber activities that do not endanger national security.
On October 25, 2023, Imi announced her retirement from the Vtuber industry, and the bill completed its mission.

Background

After the 3.31 Conflict, Kichi believed that vtuber was an "abstract and meaningless thing", and began to firmly oppose the development of vtuber on the Internet, but at that time Kichi did not have laws restricting vtuber. A proposal to restrict the development of vtubers appeared on Huaguoshan after a special attack on vtubers in the game "Goose Goose Duck" a few days before the Lunar New Year.

Legal provisions

Vtuber culture is banned in Kichi.

Until the law is amended on March 12, 2023, the law is discriminatory against vtubers. According to the law, vtuber activities in Kichi that endanger national security are considered illegal. (Before the law was revised, all vtuber activities were considered illegal) The Kichi authorities also started to persecute the vtuber group.

External reaction

The Great Eurasian Empire lowered its diplomatic level with Kichi on the day the law was issued.
The official Twitter account of the Commonwealth Empire of Wakoku posted the following response after the law was released:

Our empire is non-political, but on behalf of the prime minister, we support the new law.
