In Kichi, the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people have gradually been guaranteed over time. After the adoption of the Kichi Charter of Rights and Freedoms in 2023, Kichi's LGBT policies are among the progressive ones within Chinese micronations. Before April 2022, the LGBT group was marginalized for various reasons, and heterosexuality, traditional gender roles, and strict moralism from Chinese society were deeply rooted. The combination of Chinese socialism and traditional morality has further marginalized the LGBT community. Therefore, at that time, those who were incompatible with society or unable to contribute to society were considered "outcasts". It wasn't until the law was changed that the public's acceptance of the LGBT community increased substantially.

History

NR Kingdom

During the NR Kingdom period, there were no regulations for the LGBT community. At that time, there was only the regulation of "prohibiting improper intercourse between men and women".

Jiji Republic and Grand Duchy of Kichi

During the period of the Jiji Republic, because Jiji’s policy followed China, the status of the LGBT group in Kichi was similar to that in China.
During the period of the Grand Duchy of Kichi, the legal provisions and guarantees for the LGBT group were very vague. At that time, Kichi neither protected nor discriminated against the LGBT group.

Republic of Kichi

During the period of the Republic of Kichi, the Kichi government entered social media and got in touch with more micronations, and it also became aware of the global LGBT community.

A photo of Kichi's members displaying at an expo in Guangzhou. It can be seen that there are transgender flags, Kichi flags and MicroWiki's "Micronation" article.

The sudden change in the government's views on LGBT groups came in July 2023, when Huaguoshan passed the "Kichi Charter of Rights and Freedoms" at that time. The charter clearly stated that "the reasonable rights of all people should not be offended." After contacting more organizations , such as EMeowSys, etc., President of Kichi filed an unprecedented lawsuit against transphobia organizations in the Kichi Federal Supreme Court and applied for an injunction.
