The Trependeryn Times is a weekly national newspaper in Gwladcoeden. The newspaper, a Broadside, was founded by Sanne Hydref Vos in 2022. The newspaper declares itself impartial and has intermicronational coverage.

The Trependeryn Times is recognised as a newspaper of record in Gwladcoeden and a contracted newspaper in Caudonia. The Trependeryn Times also enjoys a following in Elysium and is widespread in the MicroWiki sector.

History

The Trependeryn Times was founded by publisher and editor Sanne Vos on 26 January 2022. The first issue of The Trependeryn Times reported Gwladcoeden’s Constitutional Convention, featuring interviews with Constitutional Convention Members Harvey Michaels and Arthur Pierce regarding their constitution suggestions; the first issue also reported an r/ micronations cyber attack by Almendria, Narodnaya Volya becoming persona non gratia in Caudonia, and Gwladcoeden’s rescinding recognition of France. The first issue was published in Gwladcoeden, Caudonia, and the former MicroWiki@Discord.

Second issue and switch to weekly frequency

Feeling the need to make a newspaper on the next day, Vos worked overnight to create the second issue for 27 January 2022. The second issue introduced photographs and formalised sections. The second issue also featured its first opinion article, an exclusive interview with Maximilian von Meister on retiring from Caudonian politics, and the first story relating to Radnia. The Trependeryn Times announced on the same day that it would turn from a daily newspaper to a weekly newspaper.

Partnership with Granduer Print

On 30 January 2022, The Trependeryn Times announced an online service, accessible via MicroWiki and a partnership with Grandeur Print to publish their headlines under a "Cycoldian" section in future issues; this partnership caused backlash amongst the readership in Caudonia, resulting in Caudonian and Elysian versions of the newspaper not featuring Grandeur Print headlines.

When registering as a newspaper in Elysium, Emperor Robert Smith II was alleged to have requested Vos "[to not] publish the Cycoldia section in Elysium".
