The Republic of Millius, more commonly known as Millius, is a micronation mostly residing in Michigan, in the United States. It also holds land in the states of Ohio, Nevada, and Indiana. It is a breakaway state of both the Confederation of Davonia and the United States of America. The nation was founded on 7 August 2023, by the three co-signers of the Declaration of Independence, Atreus, Jarod, and M.
History
The Republic of Millius is a fairly new nation, as it only declared independence from the Confederation of Davonia in August of 2023. However, despite this young age, the nation still has some history behind it.
Millian history
Throughout the course of the Millian War for Independence, as well as the nation's life, it has been bridled with conflict. These conflicts range from small issues, like the current government agreeing on a constituting document. And go all the way to bigger issues, like the war for independence itself.
In the beginning of the nation, there were disagreements behind the constituting document. The reason behind the disagreements regarding the constituting document stemmed from two of the co-signers, Jarod and M, not agreeing with how some of the document was written. Regarding the document as "not specific enough" and they thought the document would "cause issues in the future." The writer of the drafts, Atreus, reread what they had written, and agreed.
After months of writing, reviewing, and editing, Atreus finally finished writing the fourth, and final draft of the Millian Constitution. This Constitution was quickly signed by Jarod and M, and ratified in the Republic of Millius. In total, the Millian Constitution is 10 pages, consisting of a total of 4 Articles, 19 Sections, and 4065 words.
As of now, Millius is in a "Construction Period" where the government is working on the nation more, and is also working on expanding Millian influence in the micronational community. The Construction Period officially started with the ratification of the Constitution.
Construction Period
The Construction Period in Millius started with the ratification of the Constitution, and has steadily been handled by the Millian government since its start.
The first part of the Construction Period started with a bill between Millius and Davonia. This bill, called the "Merger Bill" detailed a plan to, over time, incorporate Davonia into the Republic of Millius. This process would start on 6 November, 2023, with the integration of the Davonian population. The Merger Bill was originally proposed on 1 November, and was unanimously ratified in the Republic of Millius. After a few days of deliberation, D of Davonia ratified the bill on 4 November. Two days later, on 6 November, the Merger Bill went into effect.
The Merger bill led to many changes, some of these changes included an increase in the Millian population from 3, all the way to 34, an increase in the HDI of Millius, and an increase in population density.
Also detailed in the Merger Bill is everything else that happened to integrate Davonia into Millius. Some of these integration projects include incorporating the Davonian GDP into Millius, which happened on 10 November. Then, one day later, on 11 November, Davonia officially dissolved, and its land went back to the United States of America.
Construction Period Bills, Laws, and Treaties
Merger Bill
The first bill passed during the Construction Period was the Merger Bill. The Merger Bill detailed a plan to integrate the Confederation of Davonia into the Republic of Millius. The Millian government unanimously voted in favor of the Merger Bill on 1 November, the same day it was proposed. The bill was then sent to the Secretary of Davonia for it to be voted on in Davonia. After a few days of back and forth between the governments of the two nations, D of Davonia eventually agreed to sign the bill and ratify it in Davonia.
First Amendment to the Constitution
The First Amendment to the Millian Constitution was proposed on 1 November, alongside the Merger Bill. The First Amendment made many changes that were overlooked in the original Millian Constitution. The bill was unanimously passed by the Millian government on 2 November, and went into effect on 1 January 2024
Some of these changes include adding a succession law to the presidency, changing the amount of time it takes for a Constitutional Amendment to take effect, expands the Bill of Rights, goes into more detail surrounding the appointment of Supreme Court Justices and their duties, adds a section specifically for the Supreme Court, goes into more detail about the presidential cabinet, and more.
Treaty Establishment Act
The Treaty Establishment Act is a bill that was proposed on 1 November, along with the First Amendment to the Constitution, and the Merger Bill. The Treaty Establishment Act created multiple types of treaties and details how a nation can engage in diplomacy with Millius. It includes a Mutual Recognition Treaty, a Military Action Treaty, and an Economic Intervention Treaty.
The bill was passed unanimously in the Senate, but made Millian history when it was the first bill to ever be tied in the House of Representatives. Representative M (IND) voted no on the bill, citing that he did not believe in the need for a Military Action Treaty. Representative Jarod (MGP) disagreed with Representative Jarod, stating that there may be times in the nation's future in which a military alliance may be needed. This tie was broken by Atreus, the President of Millius. He voted in favor of the bill. This then pushed the bill forward to the executive branch of the government, all of the members of which agreed with the bill and signed it. The bill was officially ratified on 15 November 2023, and went into effect upon the signing of it.
The Mutual Recognition Treaty (MRT) is the simplest and most basic treaty that a nation can engage in with Millius. The MRT only details that the two nations engaging in this type of diplomacy will recognize each other as sovereign nations, and nothing more. Article I, section III of this treaty declares that the MRT does not expand to military, economic, or any other type of treaty or alliance.
The Military Action Treaty (MAT) is a more complicated treaty. It has a total of one article and eight sections. The MAT details the requirements for engaging in the MAT. Some of those requirements are the establishment of a MRT between the two nations, a functioning military, being in good standing with Millius and its allies, being economically and militarily independent, being at peace and not under threat of danger, and both nations must agree to assist each other in defensive wars, if the other nation requests help.
The Economic Intervention Treaty (EIT) is the hardest treaty for any nation to obtain from Millius. It has one article and nine sections. The EIT is similar to the MAT, with some minor differences. Some of those differences are the requirement for a functioning economy, the nation being economically sound and not at risk for economic downturn, a minimum GDP of at least $5,000 USD, and the requirement of economic assistance if asked for between both nations.
Davonian history
During the time in which Millius was ruled by the Confederation of Davonia, the region had many conflicts with the Davonian government. This was due to the Davonian government's poor treatment of the nation, poor running of the government, and authoritarian regime under the Secretary of the Confederation of Davonia, D of Davonia.
The poor treatment of the Davonian people and government, as well as suppression of revolutionaries and people who disagreed with the government, sparked a conflict in the nation. This then led to a fight that lasted for a month and a half, in which the Millian people vied for independence. Or at the very least, a fair treatment of the Davonian citizens.
After weeks of deliberation, a treaty was signed between four individuals. On the Davonian side, D, the Secretary of Davonia, signed. On the Millian side, the three co-founders of Millius, Atreus, Jarod, and M, all signed. This treaty was called the Millia-Davonian Treaty of 2023.
National Symbols
National Bird
The national bird of Millius is the northern cardinal. This is due to the idea that if you spot one, it means a loved one is watching you from the afterlife.
National Tree
The national tree of Millius is the white oak. This is due to the oak tree representing strength.
National Flower
The national flower of Millius is the lily of the valley. This is due to the flower representing the return of happiness and hope.

The flag of Millius is depicted with two colors, blue and green, with a white border, and an outline of a flower in the front of the flag. The entire flag is meant to symbolize multiple different parts of nature, as Millius was founded on principles of preserving the environment.
Colors
The green on the Millian flag was chosen to represent nature on land. This includes forests, bushes, grass, and parks. The blue on the Millian flag was chosen to represent nature in the sea, oceans, and lakes. This includes fish, coral reefs, and other underwater ecosystems.
Leaf
The leaf on the flag is meant to symbolize nature as a whole. This is represented by the leaf being in the dead center of the flag, and covering all parts of the flag.
White border
The white border on the flag is meant to symbolize a border. This is to send a message that humanity should not be interfering with the environment, and should instead be protecting it.
National Languages
The Republic of Millius has three official national languages. Those languages are English, Davonian, and Millian.
English
The English language is one of Millius's official languages due to the nation's presence in the Anglosphere.
Davonian
The Davonian language is one of Millius's official languages due to one of the articles in the Millia-Davonian Treaty of 2023 stating that the Millian people must all know the Davonian language, and it must be an official language until the year 2030. However, after the dissolution of the Confederation of Davonia, the President of Millius made a statement, saying that the Davonian language would remain an official language to honor the memory of the now defunct nation.
Millian
The Millian language is one of Millius's official languages due to it being a fundamental part of the government. This is shown off by the language's usage in the Declaration of Independence, which is written entirely in Millian.
Recognized Languages
Spanish
The Spanish language is one of Millius's two recognized languages. It is a recognized language due to the small Spanish-speaking population within the nation.
French

Holidays
The Republic of Millius, for the most part, celebrates all of the same holidays as the Confederation of Davonia. There are only official holidays in Millius, but there have been unofficial holidays in the past.

Foreign Relations
According to the Foreign Policy Charter Bill, which was passed on 20 February 2024, the Republic of Millius has strict policies regarding the recognition of nations. The nation has five official categories of recognition, all of which have different standards for nations to be part of that category. Those five categories are condemnation, not recognized, recognition refused, recognized, and territory of another nation.
The Foreign Policy Charter Bill is a bill authored by Representative and Senator Indigo (MGP), on 19 February 2024. It was commended for its specificity and the amount of work put into it by President Atreus and Vice President Jarod. It was unanimously passed in both the Senate and the House, then quickly signed by the President and Vice President a day later, and immediately put into effect.
