The Secretary of the Confederation of Davonia (SOTCOD) is the head of the federal government in the Confederation of Davonia.

Importance

The SOTCOD is a very important member of Davonian society. With the SOTCOD being in charge of the finances, military, and foreign policy of the nation, it is imperative that the individual elected to the position is competent.

The SOTCOD is in charge of all finances in the nation. Any finances involving the federal government must be dealt with by the incumbent secretary of the nation. The secretary is in charge of dispersing money to the various departments and agencies in the Davonian government, as well as providing financial aid to autonomous states that are in need.

The SOTCOD is also in charge of the military of the nation. Any expansion, reduction, change, or action done regarding the military must be dealt with by the secretary. However, the secretary is not exclusively in charge of going to war. The Confederate Board of Davonia must also vote to go to war.

The SOTCOD is in charge of the foreign policy of the nation. This means that condemnation, recognition, and diplomacy with other nations are all dealt with by the secretary. As well as this, all laws and policies involving foreign policy must be proposed by the Confederate Board of Davonia and the secretary will either accept the policy or deny it.

History

The history of the position of the SOTCOD is short, due to the nation's young age. However, this position was originally proposed in the agreement signed by Secretary D and the former president of the Republic of Amberiana, President Amber under a different name. The position would be different from that of a governor of a district in Amberiana. The title of the Secretary of Davonia would be given to the leader of the State of Davonia and this individual would have complete control over their own district. However, due to the collapse of Amberiana, this agreement could not be followed through.
