Raymond Jacobs Park
The Raymond Jacobs Park (formerly known simply as the Pitch) is a pitch and home ground of the Greater Roscam Football Club. It is named after Raymond Jacobs, father of Shaun Jacobs and paternal grandfather of Thomas Jacobs. It was renamed in honour of him on the 50th anniversary of his death at age 26 in a car crash in Republic of Rhodesia (Rhodesia as in the sovereign state between 1965 to 1979).
History
The pitch's history is as old as the housing estate of Roscam. Before Roscam was built, it was a part of a larger area of grass and road. In the early 2000s', developers started making the houses and flats that now occupy the space. It was made a pitch that was to be used for Football (primarily called soccer as well in Ireland as there is a sport in Ireland called Gaelic Football).
Modern History
In January 2022, as the 50th anniversary of the death of Raymond Jacobs was coming up, Thomas Jacobs, President of Roscamistan and Prime Minister of Greater Roscam decided to set up a football league for Roscamistan. His first act was to rename the Pitch to the Raymond Jacobs Park. He also created the Greater Roscam Football Club, owned by the Greater Roscam Government and overlooked by the Greater Roscam Department of Culture.
