Ralph is a pet dog owned by the residents of Palasia in Austenasia, who has served as Honorary Mascot of the Order of the Bullmastiff since December 2021. Ralph was a rescue dog from Romania, and as such his exact date of birth and lineage is unknown, although he is of Romanian Bucovina Shepherd Dog descent and thought to be born circa August 2019.
The Order of the Bullmastiff is the only Austenasian order of chivalry to have a Mascot, a position that is intended to be filled by a bullmastiff. However, in the case of a vacancy when no suitable bullmastiff can be found for the position, provision exists for an Honorary Mascot - a dog that is not a bullmastiff - to be appointed instead. Between January 2018 and October 2022, one such vacancy existed, with an Honorary Mascot - Cleo - being appointed Honorary Mascot in February 2018. Cleo died in October 2021, and on 1 December later that year, Ralph was appointed her successor as Honorary Mascot by Emperor Jonathan I after he was volunteered by Lord John Gordon, former Prime Minister of Austenasia and the Representative and Baron of Palasia.
The position of Honorary Mascot is held for life, and so Ralph remained in office as such even after the appointment of Penny as Mascot proper on 16 October 2022. He will, however, be the last dog to hold said position unless another vacancy arises in the Mascots.
