Shadoweghn is a province in Edwardsville, Illinois and is the most populous administrative division of the Provincist Republic of Schpecktenia. It is home to the nation's capital, the Grand Estate of Meadowen. Shadoweghn was originally founded during the Grand Empire of Schpecktenia on 5 October 2022.
Etymology
Shadoweghn's name is merged from the two original lands of Schpecktenia, Shadowfoxia and Meadowen. Shadowfoxia comes from a misheard road name, originally being Shadowfax Lane. Meadowen comes from a neighborhood's name, Goshen Meadows.
History
Shadoweghn was created as a the Province of Meadowen by the Grand Empire, but was forgotten about during the Dark Times. Meadowen then evolved to be the entire City of Edwardsville from the Second Republic of Schpecktenia until the end of the Third Imperial Schpecktenian Republic. During the Imperial Federation of Schpecktenia, Meadowen became a key state in the federal system. Meadowen became a province again, and used to be separate from the Grand Estate of Meadowen until 22 August 2023. Following the Goshen Plan, the province would increase in size. Meadowen was directly impacted by the battles of the New Prussia-Schpecktenia War and Greater Metro East War. Meadowen would undergo many border changes, which it still goes through frequently. When the Provincist Republic of Schpecktenia came into effect, Meadowen united with many other Schpecktenian states, such as Stallion, Shadowfoxia, and Metbir.
In March 2024, the Duchies of Meadowen, Stallion, and Metbir expanded. The following week, the Duchy of Stallion was dissolved as the result of a personal scandal.
