The Poplar Republican Party (Commonly abbreviated to PRP) was a Centre-Right political party founded by Jack D on the 1 June 2019 as the first political party of his new micronation, The Republic of Poplar Nerva.

The party's main focuses were:

• Preserving Nervan Independence.
• Ensuring Democracy is upheld.
• Seeking closer relations with the Grand Unified Micronational and the Commonwealth of Essexia.

The PRP was historically staunchly anti-colonialist, and believed in full independence for colonies and dominions of other micronations.

History

The PRP held the longest term in Government, being the sole party for nearly the entirety of its 346 day reign. The party was defeated in the 10 May 2020 General Election by Benedict and the Poplar Conservative Party, who won three seats. However, the party won the 3 June 2020 Emergency Election with four seats, after only 23 days in opposition.

A new logo was adopted on the 28 April 2021 by the party Chairman, as he believed that the Green-and-red arrow logo had grown outdated and remained very low resolution. The new logo featured the letter R which can also be interpreted as a P.

Dissolution

The party was, by de facto, dissolved along with Poplar Nerva on the 25th October 2022. It was the longest reigning political party in Poplar Nerva, and was in power for the majority of the party's, and the nation's, existence.
