The Palace of Parliament or, unofficially, the Houses of Parliament are the names for the official de jure meeting place for both the House of Commons and House of Lords. The building is inspired partially by the Palace of Wesminster. There are unofficial plans to build the Houses in real life, possibly in Ela'r'oech. It is likely that the Palace will start construction after or during the Iron Jubilee of Charles I.
History
The building was initially idealized after the establishment of the Parliament of the United Bayou as a way for Charles Madgett to view parliamentary sessions or at least hold promotional events there. It was partially designed on 2 March 2023. From there, plans to start construction following a speech at the Iron Jubilee were initially thought of.
Layout
Generally, the palace is planned to be constructed with wood, windows, etc. The exterior of the building is planned to be painted white and decorated with Elarian decor, such as flags and posters. The interior of the building will feature three rooms, a main room, a House of Commons room, and a House of Lords room. Each room will likely have multiple offices for different individuals, regardless of if they are in the Palace or not. It is also likely that there will be offices for different ministries, such as the Ministry of Social Services and the like.
Security
It is assumed that the Palace will be guarded by security, likely either a local Elarian militia or the Elarian Armed Forces, should they be reestablished.
