The Iron Jubilee of Charles I is the international celebration scheduled to be held in 2023 marking the 5th anniversary of the accession of Emperor Charles I on 11 August 2018. It was intended by the King-Emperor to be both a commemoration of the 5th anniversary of his reign and the 5th anniversary of the founding of the Empire of Ela'r'oech. It will be the first of such jubilees to be celebrated in a significant way in the Empire of Ela'r'oech.
Background
Anticipation began for the Jubilee in late February 2023, upon the passing of the Jubilee Act of 2023, which was officially passed by the Parliament of the Empire of Ela'r'oech. On 1 March 2023, the Empire of Ela'r'oech and Kingdom of Pontunia's parliaments would merge into the Parliament of the United Kingdom of the Great Bayou so that they could oversee and finalize the establishment of the Great Bayou. The parliament is scheduled to officially crown the King-Emperor as the King of Pontunia in early March, which will also allow the jubilee to be a celebration of the first half-year of the King-Emperor's rule over Pontunia.
In February 2023, Ela'r'oech News Source published an article about the upcoming jubilee after the Jubilee Act of 2023, spurring hype and anticipation regarding the jubilee.
Medal
The Emperor Charles I Iron Jubilee Medal, more commonly known as the Iron Jubilee Medal or Charles I Medal, is an awaiting issue medal issued by the government of the Empire of Ela'r'oech.
