The New European Reforms began on 25 May 2009 and officially ended on 6 November 2009. The reforms were proposed by the New European Emperor, Wilhelm I. They were originally ended upon the election of the second Imperial Diet. But the newly elected Diet voted to re-open the reforms in order to pass its first set of laws.

Origins

The idea for these reforms came when it became clear that "Breenism" was a growing thing in New Europe. As well as the notice of no positive white pride movement. The Emperor presented a simple proposal to key members of government in regards to the idea of reform. And word leaked out and the whole country became involved and it created oppositions for the reform and against it.

Debates

There was never a response to this from the, at the time, Chancellor Russell, this resulted in his dismisal from office. But others were protesting against it. Johannus von Ikner thought New Europe should remain as it was, where as Matthew Breen believed New Europe should reform but not in the way the Emperor had envisioned.

National Flag and symbols

A White Nationalist flag has been agreed upon and approved by the Imperial Diet but the idea of a new Eagle failed. Another resolution proposes that the world famous Iron Cross be replaced with another popular White nationalist symbol called the Sun Cross. This is said so that the nation seems "more of a universal European one, rather than a German controlled one. And now the newly reorganized Conservative Party is proposing the creation of an "Imperial Crown of the State". This is again being oppossed by those who think the use of the Imperial State Crown of Germany is oppropriate for the Emperor and his German heritage.

Shift in Government

See: Constitution 2009

The government and Reich was on the verge of complete collapse. This was not made public until September, 2009. But only one of New Europes many claimed states were functioning. Another was shifting between inactivity and activity. The rest had completely gone inactive. This called for a change in how New Europe made land claims. And how the definition of citizens and residents would be determined. It was descided that this could not be solved so simply and so New Europe had choosen to rewrite its consititution and possibly the government itself. There was a fear that the Monarchy was going to be changed or challenged. It also seemed like New Europe would move into more of a Confederate system rather than a Federalist one. But these things did not occur. However the various states of New Europe were granted more freedoms than they had previously.

Reorganizing the Military

New Europe's Armed Forces have been one of the most respected and feard ones in the entire MicroWiki community. It is very well equiped and supplied, and extremely professional in its activities. It had been under the command of General Field Marshal Matthew Breen since it was founded in 2009. But the galiant commander had been retired from his post due to his personal activities that would take up much of his time. And as "Commander-in-Chief" the Emperor proposed that it replace the ranks of the German Wehrmacht with the its own custom rank system. This has been greatly opposed by many in the Imperial Government, and eventually the proposal failed.

Proposed National Borders

Territories are not yet final, some are still requesting New Europe claim all white majority states regardless of who claims them. Others think claims should be made with respect of known territory claims made by other micronations. The debate on this matter has been placed on hold until a time when the legislature can meat in person.

National Election

A major stage of reformation began on August 4, 2009. The New European Legislature seats were to be voted on to see who was the dominant ideological force in New Europe. The election was free and open allowing all forms of politics and ideology. It was decided that after the election the reformation would be declared over and shall proceed as the nation was until such a time that the demand of a second reformation is made. One was made only weeks after the election, accept the newly elected legislature chose to consider it part of the same reformation era instead of calling for a whole new one.
