National Plant

The national plant of Bepistan is the Northern Spicebush, a deciduous shrub native to the w:American northeast, consequently, many Bepistani claims. The plant was used by early settlers as an indication of fertile and well conditioned soil. The plant's fragrant fruit and leaves have many uses in cuisine and homeopathic medicine; the berries can be ground into a powder as a substitute for allspice, and the dried leaves can be made into a diaphoretic tea.
