The Narsiryn Royal Senate, officially the Royal Senate of the Kingdom of Narsiryn was the Legislative branch of the Kingdom of Narsiryn's Government.

History

The Senate was created in a Royal Decree by Wald I on April 20, 2022. It was planned to have the Senate fully operational by the end of the next month.

The first election was announced on May 8, 2022, and was held on May 12th. The winning senators were announced on the 14th.

Structure

The Royal Senate had 6 members, 5 Seats for Senators and the Chancellor.

Senators

The 5 Senators create, present, and vote on pieces of legislation within the Narsiryn Senate. Each Senator was elected by the citizens and serve until the Monarch stated the Senates term has ended.

Chancellor

The Chancellor moderated all Senate meetings. The Chancellor could call people to speak, and could begin and end debates. The Chancellor may call recesses, and may also set session times. The Chancellor could be a tie-breaker in the unlikely event of a tie due to abstains in votes.

The Chancellor had to be selected 3 days days after the Senate's inauguration by a vote between the Senator's, or could be chosen by having the highest number of votes for the Senate election. The Chancellor had to leave a ministry or other government position if elected, but was allowed to refuse election. In the event of indecision on the Senate's part, then the Monarch of Narsiryn could call upon his own candidate.
