The May 2022 East Galway general election was the first election to the House of Representatives after the Reforms of April and the proclamation of the socialist republic. The election will happen simultaneously with the May 2022 East Galway gubernatorial elections and the 2022 East Galway presidential election. The election also represents the first real challenge to the premiership of Jan Kotonski, who had been in power since 7 September 2021.

Since East Galway is a parliamentary democracy, the President is a weak position and in reality, the executive branch is invested in the Premier of East Galway and the Cabinet of Ministers, so the winner of every general election becomes the Premier-designate, and then formally appointed by the President.

Notes

  1. Though Olson was not party leader since the party is led by collective leadership, Olson was still considered de facto the first among equals, and as such, was put here as the leader
