The Lord High Chancellor (abbreviated as LHC; previously Lord President, Chancellor and Prime Minister) is the chief officer of state and head of government of the Tsardom of Begon.
History
The position of Lord High Chancellor was originally established in late 2019 as the position of Prime Minister. The Prime Minister served as "co-head advisor" to the Kaiser of Begonia alongside the Kaiserin-Queen. In 2020, this position was renamed to Chancellor. It was again renamed to Lord High Chancellor by royal decree on 22 January 2021. The office was temporarily dissolved on 5 January 2022 until the appointment of Sean G. as Lord High Chancellor on 17 February 2022.
After the assumption of Augustine Edward, the position was renamed to Lord President in a constitution enacted on 30 December 2022. It was reverted back to Lord High Chancellor on 14 April 2024.
Role
According to the 2024 constitution of Begon, the Lord High Chancellor is the chief officer of state and head of government of Begon. The Lord High Chancellor is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Tsar, and – on his behalf – conducts ordinary business, serves as chief diplomat and plenipotentiary, and has the power to discipline the Council of State.
The Lord High Chancellor is expected to be a Christian, at least 15 years old, and a resident of North Carolina or Begon for at least 1 year.
