The Representative of Vishwamitra to Estonia (Hindi: एस्टोनिया में विश्वामित्र के प्रतिनिधि‎, Estonian: Vishwamitra esindaja Eesti Vabariigis), formerly known as the Ambassador of Vishwamitra to Estonia is the official representative of the Rashtradhyaksh and the government of Vishwamitra in Estonia and the head of the representative office in Estonia. The representative is appointed by the Rashtradhyaksh at the recommendation of the Minister of External Affairs. The position is currently held by Johannes Mattias Toome since 12 August 2024.

The representative and chief of mission is a member of the diplomatic corps of Vishwamitra. Vishwamitra unilaterally recognized Estonia by a presidential decree on 1 January 2017, however, since the recognition is not currently reciprocated, the position is - at present - unaccredited, and serves a primarily ceremonial role. The duties of the representative includes representing the interests of the Rashtradhyaksh and the government of Vishwamitra in Estonia and catering the interests of the non-residential (overseas) citizens of Vishwamitra residing in Estonia or are of Estonian origin.

The position was first created on 2 April 2021 with the appointment of Sander Koff as the ambassador to Estonia. The position of the representative was created on 12 August 2024.

History

Flag of Estonia

The position of the ambassador was first created on 2 April 2021 along with the creation of a full-fledged mission located in Tallinn. The first ambassador was Sander Koff who served in office until his honourable dismissal in October 2022. Following his resignation, Johannes Mattias Toome was appointed as the ambassador to Estonia.

In a cabinet decision, the regular diplomatic missions accredited to macronations which are unilaterally recognized by Vishwamitra were reorganized to honorary status on 8 May 2023. Thereupon, the ambassador was re-designated as honorary ambassador. Toome continued to serve as honorary ambassador in Estonia until the mission's dissolution on 28 February 2024 following a decision of the Ministry of External Affairs to dissolve all honorary missions, thereby discharging all honorary diplomats from their office.

The representative office in Estonia was re-established on 12 August 2024 and Johannes Mattias Toome was re-appointed as the head of the mission for the second time.
