History of Rikuchar

Bermania

The oldest known predecessor state to Rikuchar was known as the Kingdom of Bermania. The exact founding date is unknown, but no earlier than January 2008. Bermania occupied a minuscule plot of land in what is now Giricronu. This land encompassed the residence of the Royal family; Princess Katie, Prince Alexander, King Steven I, and Queen Michele I. The length of time that Bermania existed is also unknown, but it is estimated to have collapsed after a few weeks due to inactivity.

Simlia

The successor state to Bermania was known originally as the Empire of Simania (later renamed Simlia), and was founded on August 28, 2009, in response to the video game "MySims". This nation was slightly more involved than Bermania, and had adopted its own anthem ("The MySims Kingdom Title Theme"), its own Motto ("Let's Dance"), and even had plans for a school, a radio station, and a television channel, all estimated to be completed in 2012. Independence from the United States of America was officially declared via a video taken on a MacBook laptop computer on August 28, 2009. Currently, the video taken has been lost, and a track of audio on a Compact Disc that existed long after the video was misplaced also has yet to be found again. Similar collapsed within approximately two months due to inactivity.

Asermia

United Kingdom of Lost States

On July 6, 2010, the micronational proposal that would later come to be known by multiple names (most prominently the Union of Asermia), was started. It was begun in response to a book known as "The Book of Lost States" by Michael J. Trinklein, featuring many former, planned, and proposed states of the USA, as well as secessionist entities. Initially the Kingdom of Aciremai, the name was changed to the "United Kingdom of Lost States" on July 11. Independence was declared at noon EST on July 14, 2010, with a ceremony at a house in Esiped, marking the beginning of a chain of micronations that ends with modern-day Rikutsar. At the time of its establishment, it consisted of 20 states, 2 territories, and a district.

Soon, leaders were appointed for each state. The territory of the USA outside these claims was incorporated as the District of Vespucci. The district gradually shrank over the next few weeks until vanishing completely by August. The district was ceded back to the USA. On July 24, the first elections were held, electing Richard Stewart as prime minister. However, he resigned in Mid-September, after which Katie won the popular vote in a special election.

In November 2010, Katie and her schoolmates began a sort of fantasy nation game completely independent of the online micronational community in what they called a "layer", a layer being an alternate Earth in which they were the only nations. This layer was also called the Micronational Union. From January 29–February 5, 2011, there was a war (aka. a roleplayed "fight" in the field behind their school) between all their nations, known for an embarrassing amount of time as the Great Micronational War. After the war ended, there remained only three nations: the New Holy Roman Empire, the Dynasty of Haikiatu-Shanat, and UKLS. By May, only UKLS remained, and thus began the period known as the Isolation Period.

Union of Asermia

On November 28th, 2011, Katie renamed her nation the Union of Asermia. On December 5, 2011, Asermia allied with the Royal Kingdom of Galacia, bringing the Isolation Period to an end. The next day, a conflict of territorial claims arose with nations in the midwestern United States. This dispute lasted 3 days and was ended with an alliance with the Democracy of Grum (now the Grémmian Republic). This dispute is now known as the Asermia-Grum dispute.

The Smallia-Asermia Dispute

The Smallia-Asermia Dispute was a border dispute between Asermia and the Kingdom of Smallia (Now the Principality of Sabovia) The dispute began on June 1, 2012, when King Andrew I of Smallia noticed that Asermia had claimed all of the British Isles. He notified Katie of the problem, who agreed to relinquish what she believed was a small field. However, David then expanded his claims to the other half of the field, and shortly after Andrew claimed the surrounding fields.

After a long argument that lasted about a day, Katie gave up all of Tetbury. However, the dispute continued for a week. Sometime in that week, King Andrew illegally declared himself king of Asermia. On June 20, 2012, Andrew and the leader of Spanionia had an argument, leading to Andrew claiming Spanionia. To avoid being annexed, Spanionte leader Varick Webb turned against Asermia.

On the 9th of July, both sides retreated, unofficially ending the conflict. On July 31, 2012, King Andrew and Katie made a peace treaty, officially ending the dispute.

Kingdom of Asermia

In late July 2012, an election was held for a new president of Asermia. Katie decided not to run, wanting to experiment with new micronation ideas. The election lasted several days and was underway as early as July 29th. The results were announced on August 1st. Prince Jordan won the election, he later resigned and Asermia was then passed onto Princess Katie (of no relation to Katie Fishman), who declared a territorial war on Wisteria. Wisteria and Asermia signed a treaty that removed Princess Katie from in line to the Wisterian throne and prevented the two nations from entering war against each other.

It is unknown when the Kingdom ceased to exist, though it is thought to have lasted possibly as late as early 2014.

Chaotic Era

Following the 2012 Asermian elections, Katie created 3 different micronations in a short time period. This period is known as the Chaotic Era. These nations were:

On December 30, 2012, Asermia was re-established as a constituent nation in the NFOR. The new land in Alaska and Michigan was annexed, and the central states expanded.

Unfortunately, the States of New Canada was growing smaller, and the idea of a union inside a union bothered the leaders. Soon afterwards, the States of New Canada collapsed, and NFOR retracted its claims down to the Tampa Bay area, slightly smaller than the European nation of Liechtenstein. The territory was then incorporated into the United Federation of Huro-Atlantic Republics, later called the Huro-Atlantic Federation.

The Huro-Atlantic Era

Following the establishment of the Republic of Huro-Atlantica on June 16, 2013, the government experienced a long period of inactivity, similar to the Cold Era of 2012. In late August, the government began to come back to life, with a revision of the Rakwiktrab language and a small retraction of claims. On November 18, 2013, the Democratic Republic of Leylandiistan began to compose a treaty of diplomatic relations with Huro-Atlantica, and on the 19th of the same month, the first draft of the Huro-Atlantic Declaration of Independence was written, thus ending yet another period of national inactivity.

On December 2, 2013, the Declaration of Independence was finalized and brought to the House of the National Assembly for review. All members signed and agreed that the version was final. An official television station was also established. Most of the period from December 2013 to May 2014 was quiet, with little progress made in the government.

On May 27, 2014, Huro-Atlantica and its close ally, the Cockatiel Empire, united to form a union of autonomous nations, known as the De Soto Confederation. The confederation was inspired by the now defunct States of New Canada.

The Current Era

On October 10, 2014, the main constituent of Huro-Atlantica's Social Communications Network was compromised, resulting in another long period of governmental dormancy. During this period, the modern Rikuchreb language came into being. Sometime in late April 2015, Katie initiated a proposal to create a new government that would replace Huro-Atlantica. Among the changes were the implementation of the Ijivate government, a definite system of laws and regulations, and a hierarchy of congresses through which all decisions would be passed. Katie came to call it Rikuchar. In May, the official disestablishment date for Huro-Atlantica was decided, and its government was removed entirely. In addition, the primary development phase of Rikuchar's government and culture began. On the 28th of May, Rikuchar retracted its claims to include only Giricronu and Laźrabronu.
