The April 2020 Benjastanian Congressional Election was held from April 20, 2020 to April 21, 2020. This was the first Benjastanian Election in which the entirety of the People's National Congress of Benjastan was elected, and the first with more than one political party in contention. The People's Revolutionary Communist Party of Benjastan won the most seats, with three out of eight, and formed a coalition government with the two independents.
The Independent Conservative Party came in second, and unexpectedly, the United Right came in last place with only one seat. After the election, the leader of the United Right dissolved the party and joined the ICP. Several weeks after the election, one of the independent members resigned inexplicably. Following Benjastanian Law, a special election was held for the empty seat. The special election was won by Lukas Nörvu of the PRCPB, strengthening the coalition's majority.
After the election, Benjastanian President Ben Olson became the acting Chair of Congress, serving until a new chair was elected or appointed by Congress. Congress was unable to appoint a Chair in time, so President Olson selected Representative Logan Jack to be the new Chairman.
