A referendum concerning the independence of the Second Republic of Kamore was held on 16 January 2023 and 17 January 2023, with votes being officialized on 18 January 2023. The referendum question was; "Should Kamore become a part of the Elarian Commonwealth?," to which voters responded with a simple Yea or Nay. The legality of the referendum is in question by legalists in Ela'r'oech due to it requiring the consent of another nation.
Results
As part of the first referendums to establish Greater Elarian Commonwealth member states, the legality of the referendum is partially in question. However, unlike with the Zepranan referendums, this referendum was classified as 'non-binding,' therefore the legality is - presumably - constitutional and proper.
Votes were gathered from the Elarian Discord Server on 16 January 2023 and territories of Ela'r'oech on 17 January 2023, respectfully.
Kamorese citizens for the most part did not take part in the referendum, however William Madgett, leader of the Kamorese people and member of the House of Madgett, did vote no.
