History
Prelude
President Francesco Gigliotti's accusations against President Luca Mirante and his government were the catalyst for the conflict. The inflammatory remarks, reminiscent of historical figures, escalated quickly, leading to a deterioration of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Luxe and Franzlandia. The dispute took a dramatic turn when the government received a decisive message, declaring war and specifying the date and location for the impending clash. Experts interpreted this communication as a signal that Franzlandia intended to execute a blitzkrieg strategy, despite facing overwhelmingly superior enemy forces.
Military Preparations
In response to the impending conflict, the Luxe government mobilized its army. The army summoned a total of seven soldiers, with six promptly reporting for duty and one arriving as an escort. Fabroland's decision to participate in the war was considered helpful but not indispensable. General consensus among military strategists suggested that the mere entry of Fabroland into the conflict, even with a limited deployment, could psychologically intimidate Franzlandia, which now found itself caught between two adversaries of the U.M.S.. This event aimed to exploit the adversary's perception and create a strategic advantage on the diplomatic front.
The war
As the designated day for the confrontation arrived, tensions were palpable. The armies of Fabroland and Franzlandia faced off in a battle that would decide the fate of the conflict. Fabroland's strategic deployment and the commitment of its forces played a crucial role in shaping the dynamics of the confrontation. The clash, though intense, ultimately led to the capture of a Franzlandian soldier. Following his apprehension, Franzlandia officially surrendered to Luxo-Fabrolandian forces and was subjected to a fine of 300,000 FRZL from the Parliament of Luxe and an additional 200,000 FRZL from Fabroland. Despite the penalties imposed, the captured soldier was obviously later released as the two armies had not the jurisdiction to do that. Psychological Impact and Diplomatic Resolution:
The Franzlandian Conference
The war was followed by several days of negotiations between the three governments. In Luxe the politicians split into Dissolutionists and Reparationists. The Dissolutionists aimed for the definitive dissolution of the State of Franzlandia, as it was unstable and belligerent, while the reparationists simply wanted compensation to be paid and perhaps a U.M.S. intervention to be carried out. to stabilize the Franzlandian government. Regarding this debate, the Fabroland diplomats remained neutral, wanting to adopt the measure that most pleased Luxe. Then the Luxe government decided to adopt a resolution that satisfied everyone and imposed the deposition of the Franzland state and the division of its territory between Luxe and Fabroland. The western part came under the control of Luxe, organized in the Governatorato di Franzlandia Ovest, while the eastern part came under the control of Fabroland.
Studies and research
On May 6, 2024, seven years after the conflict, a register from the Ministry of the Interior was found in the National Archives of Luxe City in which the date of the start of the conflict was recorded, which would have occurred on November 1, 2017, i.e. 4 months after the previous belief. The date of the clash is attested to the following day, September 2nd.
