Valkerian Social Party

The Valkerian Social Party is a left-wing political party in the Republic of Valkerion. It is currently part of the Centrist Unity party-Social Party Coalition as a result of the Valkerian 2024 Presidential Election.

History

The Social Party was founded shortly after the formation of Valkerion, by Spencer Zhang, the co-founder of the nation. It was formed as a response to the formation of the Centrist Unity Party.

2024 Elections and the Coalition

The Social Party participated in the 2024 presidential election, via Spencer Zhang running for president. However, after a debate occurred between him and Harlan Guh of the Centrist Unity Party, Spencer realized that he was facing a much more experienced opponent. Fearing that without him, his sister might take control of the nation and plunge it into a monarchy, Spencer, instead of opting out of the elections, instead proposed to Harlan the concept of combining the two political parties together, in order to form a political alliance. Harlan immediately jumped on the idea, viewing it as a way to secure legitimacy. Thus, the Coalition was formed. Both the Social Party and Centrist Unity Party would win the elections, though not by a large margin like Harlan and Spencer had hoped.
