The Pine Tree War is Surdamian film currently being written and planned, it will release in the summer of 2023. It is a historical drama war film dramatizing the build up and battles in the Pine Tree War.

Plot

After the creation of Kalibi Little Field (a Surdamian territory) was split between Kalibi and Surdam. This strip of land became heavily guarded, the higher ups in Surdam talk about a possible attack on Kalibi, but the talks shortly stop because Kalibi has not provoked Surdam yet. The Surdamian Military decided to do training in the Trench River Valley to show Kalibi to not mess with Surdam, however there was Kalibian scouts who trespassed onto Surdamian land, this resulted in two encounters with Surdamians chasing the scouts of their land. This event was nicknamed the "Watchful Hawk Incident" which rose tensions to a max. After two weeks Surdam sends a list of demands to Kalibi demanding that Kalibi will become a puppet state of Surdam and loose some land or they will be invaded. Kalibi doesn't accept the demands in the time that is given to them which triggers Surdam to invade, stating the Pine Tree War.

Production

Background

Lane Surdam had always liked war films and wanted to make one about a important conflict for Surdam. He had been recently inspired by the Kapresh film, Astrud Lake (2023 film), he was also inspired with films like Saving Private Ryan and Dances with Wolves. After talking with Jackson I about films, Lane thought of the idea of making a film about the Pine Tree War.

Filming

Filming of 'The Pine Tree War' began on May 29th, 2023, but due to thunderstorms production has slowed down. Production is planned to pick up again in June, 2024.

Music

The soundtrack for the film will mostly be comprised of songs from many famous western films.
